I have PC version of JA that I bought but I am getting a Mac soon and I'm trying to figure out how to run it on a Mac. I saw programs like Crossover that would do it but it's not completely confirmed yet. Also, will I have to buy a new version of JA specifically for Mac?
Any information on running Jedi Academy and/or it's modding tools on a Mac would be useful. Thank you.
If I were you I'd just buy the mac version, all that messing around with Crossover will just get frustrating after a while.
I agree, I have it for mac and it's pretty much like installing it on a pc, so there is not much difference. There are not many modding tools ether, and even if you were to use them in crossover, they do not work like they should and they don't show anything. So I'd say you were better off modding on the PC, unless you were trying to skin then that's another story.
Yeah botra there is the mac version and it's probably the best way to go. I have it installed and set up on my Mac laptop so if you need any help with the Mac version yell (not to loud) at me lol.
Yeah I have the Mac version (and PC version) just remember though, if you want to play it online with any mods use this patch, JKA 1.01d Mac Patch, rather than 1.01e.
If your buying a new mac. (leopard). it should have something called bootcamp start that, its a program that lets you run windows on a mac.
Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Features - Boot Camp
If your not getting the leopard you have to buy bootcamp.
A lot of the simpler modding tools from the sdk (e.g., command-line stuff and some simpler gui applications - behavED for example) work fine in DarWINE, and you can code, map and skin perfectly fine with os x native tools.

Or get the Boot Camp beta :D (albeit I probably should buy Leopard sometime :P)
