Jedi Temple, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Free For All

The map itself runs beautifully with almost no problems.

The only problem I am having is with the gunships in the hanger. They dont appear to have any kind of colors on them (IE: the whole thing looks like its made of chrome  ).

I figured I would need the gunship model installed seperately. This happens to be in one of the SJC ep3 map packs, the one with Kashyyk. Anyway, thats installed but the ship models still looked 'chromed' in the Jedi Temple map.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

It could just be the lighting in that room, but I'm not sure.

Its not. The model is missing textures. Can anyone help please?

According to the screenshots with the file description, thegunship models should look like this: http://screenshots.filesnetwork.com/38/files2/80524_1.jpg

However, they dont when I run the map. Anyone have any idea why?

Those gunships look to be constructed within the map itself, rather than being models. This would explain how I was able to jump inside of one, whereas with a model I wouldn't be able to get close because of bounding boxes.

Chances are, what you're experiencing is a texture clash and/or shader clash.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

This is weird. I just went into the shader folder of the Jedi Temple pk3 and it appears that there isnt a shader for the gunship in there. If I copy the shader file from the gunshipVM.pk3 (included in SJC Ep3 Map pack pt 3) would it work?

Id rather not delete anything from my base folder as everything else in it works without problems togther.

EDIT: Nope. They still look like they are covered in chrome painting. :(

They aren't the same gunship, so using the shader from the SJC pack will not work. The gunship in the Jedi Temple map was constructed from brushes. The SJC Map Pack, including the gunshipVM files, are not necessary at all.

If it is a texture clash, then your only real way of knowing the exact cause is to move all your other pk3 files, and add them in one at a time to see which file it's clashing with.

Kouen, it being a model does not mean you cannot jump inside it, it all has to do with how the author clips it. I highly doubt this was made from brushes because I've got this same thing in one of my maps (had it before this was released) And it looks the exact same.

I also just looked inside the PK3 itself, It is the model of the GunshipVM just converted to a .md3 file (just like the one in my map) Theres even the readme in the .zip file for the map.

Now with the second part, that is probably correct. It is most likely a shader error, rather than a texture, textures normally don't cause a lot of conflicts. One just overwrites the other normally (or it goes missing and you'd have black and white boxes). So it is probably a conflicting shader.

So that leads to this question, what mods do you have in your base folder or what mod are you trying to run it on? Mods like JA+ can cause a lot of shader conflicts on several maps. This may be one of them.

(P.S. Sorry Kouen if that sounds like a flame, I do not mean it to come out as such.)
