I think if you just searched youd get tons of topics asking your same question.

Well I did find a topic on password problems, but none are helpful. And I'm very sorry for the repetition of an older thread!

Are you sure you're extracting files to the base folder where you installed the game, i.e. C:/Program Files/LucasArts/Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy/gamedata/base (unless you changed it during install)?

If not, chances are you're extracting them on to the CD, and as Sonic says... "That's NO good!"

If you are extracting it to the install location, then check the gamedata folder's Properties menu to make sure it's not set as read-only.

As for passwords, if you downloaded it from other sites, then you might have a passworded zip. If you downloaded it from JKFiles, then none of the files we upload are passworded.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Sounds like you may not be logged on as an administrator for the computer you are using.

That doesn't affect the ability to unzip files. The only time that would matter is if the administrator banned you from using Winzip, and even then that would only stop people from unzipping files if they were on Windows ME or earlier.

Kouen! I think you just fixed my problem! I was extracting to: D:Gamedata/Gamedata and I think it wouldn't let me because I was trying to extract to the disk (My D drive)

For seperate mods, such as JA+, just extract the zip files straight to gamedata, and they should make their own folder.

The readme will usually tell you what goes in base and what goes in a seperate folder.
