can star wars jedi knight jedi academy work with a windows vista computer ? because the last time i played jedi academy on a windows vista computer it worked for a little while and then later on each time i played it the computer consistantly kept freezing ?
The freezing was more likely related to the computer itself than it was to Windows Vista (hardware troubles, bad drivers, any of the other common causes of freezing).
The game itself is fully Vista compatible. Well, unless you're on a 64-bit computer, but then again the same is true of any pre-x64 game or application; that 64-bit stuff creates a mountain of trouble with most 32-bit software.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
JA and vista do not like each other by default. Vista generates all kinds of issues...In fact, someone usually asks why JA doesn't work on vista every two weeks or so.
You have to turn off some 'features' in vista to get it to work. After that, it runs fine.
Oh thank you for the knowledge you all have given, but judging from what i was told by all of you it seems pretty confusing whether i should play jka on windows vista, i dont know, maybe the best thing to do is not play it on vista due to the unknown reasons and known problems vista creates. When you mean 32 bit computer do you mean the number of GBs or MBs on the computer ?

If it doesn't run, shoot it. Search the forum for the previous vista thread to see what you need to do.

32-bit refers to your operating system.
Press the windows key + pause button simultaneously to find out what version of vista you have.
You might need a *patch* to run JA with no problems. Older games like JA aren't really compatible with vista

JKA runs perfectly fine on my 64-bit machine, with Vista ;).
