Hi guys...I know this is probably a newbie-question and I am sorry for asking this, but is it possible to use Jedi Outcast models (those made by the fans of course) in Jedi Academy? If not, what do I have to do to make them playable in JA?And what about maps?

Thanks :)

Yes, you can use Outcast models and maps in Academy. Just remember when using maps that some textures found in Outcast weren't in Academy, so there may be missing textures.

Ok,thank you for the answer :bows: But now I'm wondering why for example Kevin Coyle released a Jedi Outcast-version and a Jedi Academy-version of his Anakin Skywalker Ep2-model.I mean,it was not really necessary since you can use the same models for both games.Am I wrong with this one?

There are several animation-related bugs found with JO models being played in JA. It's nothing that really ruins the game, but some modellers prefer to go "the extra mile" to make their models as fun and playable as possible.

If you want to make jo models work in ja copy the skin folder,(not the pk3) delete the .glm in 1 of them then place both of the files into the base folder after they are turned into pk3 files. But make sure 1 has .glm file and the other doesn't. But sometimes models work for both jo and ja.

Models made for Jedi Outcast were not designed to hold the saber staff properly because there was no official saber staff in Jedi Outcast (just the /thedestroyer cheat that wasn't really fully finished). That's why models made for JA are better than JK2 models in JA.

The skeletons are different in the hand area - the bones are named differently - and that's why the animations don't work... in case you wanted to know, +Star+Wars+ winkx.gif. It's a minor thing, but some of the better modellers like to make versions for both. It takes quite a bit of extra work, which is why you don't see it done very often.

I have a new problem :( I've downloaded the Mace Windu-model (that was actually made for JK2) and I am using it now for Jedi Academy.Everything works fine, just the taunts don't work.I know the whole taunt-option-stuff was changed for Jedi Academy,so this is probably the reason.Anyway,is there a way to make the taunts work again in Jedi Academy?

THX :D
