I'm having a serious problem with textures. Example, I loaded up the Consotium Temple map today in SP and got the following missing textures:

in textures/yavin/

trim_stone06 stonepanel03 temple_interiorsmall3 symbol_11

Needless to say, the map did NOT look right.

I'm also having problems with trees. They appear two-dimensional...like 5 flat images branching from the top of the trunk where leaves should be. There is also the occasional plant that has missing textures as well.

It's obviously a problem with my install, as I've compared with screenshots that look correct.

What gives?

Thanks for any help.

p.s. I am using the unpatched, from-the-CD version if that's relevant.

There are two potential causes of this that I can think of right now.

The first, is that your assets files have become corrupted either during installation or while they've been on your hard drive.

The second, and most likely cause, is shader conflicts. You may have some custom maps/mods in the base folder whose textures or shaders are conflicting with the default ones. This is the most likely cause.

So, try removing any custom pk3s from the base folder one by one to isolate whichever one is causing the problem. If none of them are causing the problem, or you don't have any, reinstall the game.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Sure. Note the plant in the second picture as well. This is the a1.2 map, but it's doing it in others as well.

EDIT: The thumbnails aren't going to the actual image on my end. I'm going to photobuck them...

Hehe, funny trees. Ok, well that appears to be a conflicting pk3 issue. Just do what Tenrai said.

I'll try that. The error messages are: "Could not find image for shader *filename*".

Update: the tree problem was fixed by removing all of the pk3's from base except for a test map. Hovever, the Consotium Temple map seems to rely on textures from another map. Double check from my original post that the 4 textures do not exist in your stock assets. If you can identify the map these are found in, I :bows: to you.

The Consortium Temple had no new textures. I don't know why people think that it does...but it doesn't.

jedi_temple_battle.pk3 was the tree culprit.

Datalord: As for Consortium, you say "people"...so you're implying more than one person has suggested this? I even have the Raven bonus maps and these textures are not present. Does the 1.01 patch add textures? Like I said, I'm using the unpatched version.

Otherwise, remove all of YOUR custom pk3's from base and try Consortium. Let me know...
