I have a problem with JA (obviously)

Anyway, since I'm bad at explaining things, I'll give a screenshot.

This happens every time I try to load up any map; sometimes only one missing sound set.

I have re-installed JA twice, but that hasn't helped. Any ideas from the filefront community???

It turns out Jedi Academy is incomplete. The missing soundsets of Jedi Academy are in Jedi Outcast though. Find the ones that are missing and put them into a pk3 folder.

No, Jedi Academy is not incomplete.

And taking resources from JK2 and putting them into JKA is porting, which as you know is a direct EULA breach. If Ravensoft wanted JK2's resources in JKA, they would have put them in themselves.

Now, in reponse to the thread starter...

If you haven't been able to fix this by reinstalling, then I'm willing to bet that you're trying to use a JK2 map in Jedi Academy. I strongly advise against doing that, for various reasons, but most notably the large list of problems you're likely to get in doing so.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Check the NPC files with NPC Tools. 1 example is that worker3 is set to have worker3 sounds but the sound set does not exist in Jedi Academy but is infact in Jedi Outcast. This is only one example. It is possible they forgot to put in some sound sets that the NPCs were programmed to use.

Some companies do send out produces that are incomplete and Jedi Academy seems to be one of them. If it was complete, there would be no need for patches that are supposed to fix errors.

Another example of an incomplete product being released is the XBOX 360, which is why they were sued.

Also, incase you haven't noticed: http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/JK2_to_JA_Multiplayer_Maps_MOD;57369 http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Morgan_Sounds_from_JK2;29957 http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/MP_JK2_Voice_For_JKA;19925 http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Original_JK2_Character_Sounds_for_JKA;20043 These files are ports or encourage porting for the mod to work. There are a few other. By your definition, these are illegal.

The NPC files were merely left in there because the poor sap who converted them all wasn't told which ones to do and which ones not to do.

Such is the way of things, yes.

[quote=Talonalus]If it was complete, there would be no need for patches that are supposed to fix errors.

Patches have nothing to do with completeness, and nor do errors. A product isn't "incomplete" if there's a problem with it, merely defective.

What I ended up doing was deleting all my mods. That did the trick.

Thank you for your attempted assistance, I appreciate it quite a bit.
