Well, it's been six to eight months since I last installed Jedi Academy. It was deleted in a reformat and today I saw it sitting on the shelf and realized I never beat it. It went through two reformats, one a week after it was released, and then another after I heard about JA+ and Forcemod. So I installed it today, patched it, and went to the main menu. To my suprise however, everytime I move the mouse, a horrible lag was brought forth. I thought to myself "Maybe I just need to start a game and that'll settle things." And again, my surpise was pushed even further. The video sequence didn't lag a damn bit, but the first level, where the Yavin ship crashes, would lag horribly everytime I moved the mouse. If I moved with my keyboard, it wouldn't, but with the mouse, it totally fucked up the game. Sounds would skip, everything would get choppy. So does anyone know exactly what is wrong, or what's happening? Any help at all on this subject, because my friend whose been playing since it came out, has no idea.

Hmm, that's kind of weird. What kind of mouse is it? Cord? Cordless? Optical? Honestly don't know if it makes a bit of difference... You don't have mouse issues in any of your other games?

It's an optical with a cord. And no, no issues in any of my other games. Not even the graphically draining HL2.

It's only about a two month old optical mouse. I traded it in after my Logitech one finally died.
