Alright, idk what happened, but i whenever i A: Try to load up a mod in multiplayer, or BTry to join a server that is not base jka i crash and get the VM_create on UIfailed error. I dont think i installed any new mods, maps, or anything. And i have WAY to many files to be picking through them individually...but i will if i must. :/ Help would REALLY be appreciated. Ive seen threads with this VM error. but they seemed to be slightly different. I also have NO errors in single player. Edit: oh. and this is the error it gives me. Have you updated your game to v1.01?

Hmm. And I assume you've tried reinstalling the mods in question.

The usual cause of VM_Create errors, is corrupted assets, but as you say, singleplayer works fine so it's not baseJKA's assets.

Perhaps the mod's assets are corrupted, but again, I don't see how that could take effect on a global scale, and you say it's all mods.

You're right, this is a strange problem. I'm going to try and replicate the error on my computer, that should give me a better idea of what might cause it how to fix it. I'll get back to you as soon as I work something out.

In the meantime, all I can suggest is checking for clashes between installed mod files. Also, post anything you find that you think might be involved, even if it's just a little suspicion you have, maybe one of your files is a tricky little bugger and someone else may have a fix.

Yeah. I THINK i noticed it after some type of Japlus thing was downloaded, Ill try remving any Japlus related stuff i can find and loading up a different mod. And if that doesn't work, i guess my base folder needs a little house cleaning. :uhoh:

This DOES happen if you try to run two JA's at once (excluding servers)...but I doubt that's it, you'd have mentioned it.

Yeah.. I dont run to Jka's at once. Buit alrigh.t I'm out of ideas. Ive wiped clean my base folder, and reinstalled. And even putting one mod in by itself will not work. :/ This is the strangest thing i've ever seen. The ONLy thing i can think of is when i downloaded a panda3d viewer it had a file the exact same name and type as one JKA is looking for, and even that is hard to believe. Unless every one of my mods are corrupted. :/ I'll tryt redownloading, and see what happens.

Yeah, I completely failed to replicate this problem, and usually I have no trouble breaking things.

I think we can safely proclaim this one as goatrope.

As a last resort, try a brute-force uninstall, and if this doesn't sort it then the problem resides with your system, and not the game.

The post quoted below details a brute-force uninstall, even though it's in relation to another error, the process should still apply here. However, it should only ever be used as a last resort, because messing with RegEdit is risky, and one mistake causes serious problems.

KouenIt's still registering the game as installed because you never ran the uninstall process, therefore the registry entries are still there. You'll have to go through RegEdit to clear it. Umm... /me searchs for old post. Here we are...

KouenGo on the Start menu, select Run, a box should come up. Type in REGEDIT and click OK. Registry Editor will come up. In the folder tree on the left, click the + button next to HKEY_CURRENT_USER. Now do the same for Software. Scroll down the software branch until you find a folder called LucasArts. Click the + button next to LucasArts and right-click on the folder called Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy. Select Delete from the menu, and confirm the deletion. Now close all those open folders by clicking on the - button which is next to them where the + used to be. Then simply repeat the above process, however this time do it under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. Just check to make sure you are 100% certain the folder you delete is Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy, or you could end up breaking some other programs.

Just be very, very careful that you don't accidentally delete anything else.

Also, in future, only delete the folder as a last resort, always try to run uninstall first. And... you should never move the folder, otherwise your computer won't know where to look for the program.

Ok. I totally uninstalled the program. Reinstalled from CD and multiplayer does not work! So I have to assume this is an issue with my system. I cannot run jamp.exe fresh off the cd. I must also assume I have loaded something else that is causing this error. Is the problem related to the quake virtual machine either no longer on my machine or otherwise corrupted? Or is it in the open gl? I'm really at a dead end at this point.

EDIT: Gah! Ive Finally managed to fix the problem. I set jamp.exe to run on compatabilty (XP SP 2) and its working again...exept for one detail. I cannot play online. >_< It just stays at "Getting info for servers" forever. No, there's no firewall blocking it. According to my computer it isn't even trying to access the internet.
