hello all, i have searched high and low for a solution to this and have not had much success so far, firstly I HAVE AN ORIGINAL. ok i have had this game for ages and very recently it has started crashing when i use either the cd or mount an image of the cd using daemon tools, when i say crashing i do not just mean the game, my entire pc does a complete restart by itself, this is the only game that i have that does this.....this will usually happen within a timeframe of 1hr - 2hrs of being online playing the MP game. i have updated my gfx card so that it has the latest drivers (radeon 9200 tv out 128mb). i am running an amd athlon 2600xp, 1gb of ram, plenty of hdd space with winxp sp 1 obviously the pc rebooting on its own is unacceptable, so i tried the cd crack.....that was useless giving the cl_parsepacketentities : end of message, so removed that and returned the exe's from my backup folder, i have also tried uninstalling the game and reinstalling in a different directory ( was in c: reinstalled to L: ). if anyone has any idea how to fix this problem i am all ears. thanks Xsagaroth:confused:

Maybe if this has only recently started doing this crashing, and.or reboot, you could try the following.
Check your antiviral protection is as up to date as poss.--there have been a few recently which can cause this.
Do an uninstall, clean the registry with RegCleaner ( use Google to find it) and do a fresh re-install.
Try these for starters, Good Luck.
PS, I know you got the original disc (the pricve of which has been recently reduced (in UK at least). So why do you need to use a no CD crack?
well i thought that the problem may just be with my cd.....so thought i would try it with a no cd patch to sidestep this, in reference to the virus issue, r u talking about sasser (and variants) i dont think i am infected but will check for it just in case (i do have mcafee pro 7 installed which scans every day at 5pm) and pc is clean. it does seem to be a strange error though, i have been playing it for short periods of time using cd (max 45mins) as i have a large number of scsi's in an array and nothing annoys me more than pc rebooting itself
will check for sasser and let u know cheers

might be a driver issue. Did you change any drivers recently? I know when my video cards driver was changed, it crashed all my games. I also had to flash my bios and put in a mobo update. blue
nah drivers have not changed, although i did update them after the problem started, this only seems to be a problem with JKA i can play quake 3 non stop and also max payne with no probs at all.......

try uninstalling and reinstalling with no mods... and if it works try it with the patch, then start adding mods.
