I have a question - what ports does jk3 use?
I think the default one is 29070.
i know, but there are servers, which use other ports ex.21000 that's why i ask...
To quote PortForward.com - Free Help Setting up Your Router or Firewall
Starwars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy requires you to forward the 28060-28062, 28070-28081 ports.
I think that's completely wrong, though.
Here's the situation - the default port is 29070. Some server hosters who don't want to open 29070 for various reasons, switch to a different port, like 21000. It really makes no difference, as long as you can connect.
I assume you're experiencing technical trouble - what problem are you having with JA?
Yeah, that PortForward site is full of crap. You only ever need to open/forward any of those ports if you specifically tell the server or client to use them - and even then, they probably don't need opening/forwarding on the router because if the software has the proper permissions, the router will just let it through anyway without leaving the ports open for everything under the sun.
That's how my router works, anyway.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
Kouen's right, my router works the same.
I wouldn't say portforward.com is full of crap, though. It helped me out in some other ways.
It's a family problem ;) My stupid father blocked all ports and I can only have one sh*t to play in, that's why I asked. :)
Stupid? Heh, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for him. :)
Nevermind that ;p Thanks guys 4 the replies!
I have a problem again. What can be a problem: When I want to play jk3 and want to join a game, no servers appear (or only 2). I have everything set good: Internet, show full empty, ISDN, gametype: all... When I try to log in via ase, there is always message: Awaiting connection... I waited paitiently for 5 minutes and nothing happened... Ports are unlocked now, so it's not the problem... The only two servers it founds are: http://img264.imageshack.us/img264/4712/xxxck3.png i turned off avast and windows firewall. Nothing changed. Because i have a router, i set Lan/cable, but nothing changed either. I reinstalled the game and the problem hasn't disappeared... :bawl: I hope that You know how to help me :(
