I have an issue with this game. Every time, except *once*, I get stuck at the first loading screen. The one with the big "star wars:Jedi Academy" in giant bold letters. My computer acts like it's thinking at first but then stops. The thing about the game crashing on me right here is that I cannot minimize, use ctr-alt-delete, alt-enter, or alt tab to get out of it. The only way to exit is to manualy turn my computer off, and by manualy I mean unplugging it. That annoys me to no end. Anyways, yes I have tried reinstalling it, removing mods, and making sure it's properly patched. As far as I know it's just doing this to bother me but I thought there might be a real problem going on..so I'm asking for a little help. Advice would be appreciated.

Do not feel stupid, do not feel too embarassed to ask, we were all noobies once! Forums can be as anonymous as you want them to be. It is amazing how the most obvious or simplest solutions are the last to be considered. Tell us what the solution was; it all adds to the knowledge base of us users.

PS Some of us still consider ourselves as noobies after more than a fewyears on the forums playing JK, JKO and JKA!

Someone should sticky something about Jk3 and firewalls. Very easy to get stuck on that loading screen when zonealarm or whatever is asking for access.

If someone writes something up for it I'd be more than happy to sticky it.

In response to Anakin_skywalker2k5: I simply allowed Jk3 access to the internet and everything was fine. You might want to check your firewall and see if it's letting Jk3 through.
