I downloaded a map and I dont know the passowrd for extracting it. I need help because I cant type the site address so I cant just have sombody tell me (very angry)....

There should be no password for a downloaded mod file. I suggest downloading the file from a different source, try [COLOR=red]www.jk3files.com[/COLOR] to see if it's hosted there. Also, it would help people if they knew the name of the archive you need the password for, although it is more likely the only person who can tell you the password for the archive is the person who made it.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

That file doesn't ask for a password....


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Well I have it as a zipped file after I download it, it asks for a password when I try to extract it. It also tells me access denied whenever I try to drag it to the gamedata base folder.

If you have any extraction software (WinRAR, WinZIP etc), removing them may help. I extracted it with Windows XP's default file unzipping options, and no password requests. I also tried with WinRAR and WinZIP installed, no problems at all. You should be able to just double-click the zip file to open it, then right-click the pk3, select Copy, then go into your base folder and just paste it. Worked like a dream for me.
