Hi all, i am a new member and i have a problem with the multiplayer game. When i had jedi academy (jk3) v1.00 i saw only 15-maximium 20 servers, but now that i have updated the game to the version 1.01 i see 150-170 servers. The problem is this: if i create a server (not a dedicated one) a friend of mine doesen't see the serv in the serv list. Also if he create one i can't see it in the list. This happened also when i used 1.00 version and i don't understand why i cannot create a "visible" server. First i thought it happened for the version, but also now the server doesen't work. Now i'll give to my friend the update but i don't think it's for this motive. note: i have disactivated windows firewall, an also my friend. He has a 56k connection, i have an ADSL connection and i use a router. I think i can't be seen by other players for my router' settings, but i don't understand why i cannot see my friend, and also other people don't connect to his server. Please help me, i wanna own him in duel :D Thx.
lol, i don't thinks it's the problem with your router, Give him your Ip address after you made your server and make him type 'connect ' (with out the <>'' stuff) It sould work then. Glad to help! :naughty:
Your friend can't host a server with a dial-up connection, it doesn't have enough bandwidth.
Go to my Education Page http://www.chopshopservers.com/education/index.htm and click on the link "Running a Server from Home".
thank u two for the hints and for the link to the page.
i'll try :D
btw, has your friend updated to 1.01 also? if not, do so :)
there is a good router thread on the forum, somewhere... so have a search around for it
hm, good link on tha chopshopservers :D
Mhhh i have seen amidala's page but it teaches how to run a dedicated server. My question was how to run a non-dedicated server. The problem is not the number of pc (4 :D) but i prefer not to use one of them for the server. So how i have to do? For the last one who replied me (i don't remember your name, sry) i have to say that my friend doesen't have the updated version, but also when hadn't yet updated the game he couldn't see my server. So i don't think it's for this motive, anyway i'm going to give him the update tomorrow. Thx, and sry for my english but i'm italian :D
D'oh! Now i have discovered that this is jedi outcast forum. I have jedi academy :D Sorry for this incredible error, but i reached this page using the link in www.jk3filse.com in the community section to the page Problems&errors, so now i post in the right forum. Thx anyway men :D
same problems either way tbh, and if your friend is running a different version, then u can't play together :) you have to run the same version

why dont you run the server so your friend play if hes on dialup cause the bare minimum he can play on is 56k modem
