Hello. First of all, sorry if there's already been a thread on this, but I tried searching and didn't find much. I can't set up a dedicated server on the internet, but on of my friends can. Now would it be possible for both of us to be able to use admin commands? I know he can 'cause he has the console box that he can type into, but would it be possible for him to set it up so I could log in and use commands like "/status" and all the other cmds in the drop down console or somewhere?
Thanks a ton. Apprentice.
If you look one topic down you'll find another thread with this very same subject and a way to help you out.
Ok, thanks, I think I've got the whole admin thing figured out, but I'm having a problem with setting up a JA+ game using a dedicated server. Here's what I'm doing:
-I create a shortcut of the "start_japlus_without_dedicated_raven_pack.bat" file and put it on my desktop. -I edit the target so that at the end (after the second quotation mark) it says +exec server2.cfg -I create a cfg file called "server2" and put it in my base folder. It should contain all the game settings. -I start the shortcut, the box appears, I assume it's working. -The game should appear in my "local" list, but I can't find it anywhere.
What am I doing wrong? Did I not put the "server2" cfg file in the right place?
Thanks for your time and sorry for being a pest :(. I'm just not that good with stuff like this
Alright, I guess for now I can always start the game and then load the cfg file up after, but I'm wondering something else right now. I set up the admin passwords and stuff, but what I want to know is how do I allow an admin rank to use an extra command, without taking away all the default commands?
For example, normally, as an admin council, you can type "/amstatus" and get the IP addresses and everything. But when I want to allow the rank to create NPCs, I type "seta jp_councilAllowedCMD "8388608"" ( 8388608 is the NPC command bit code) in the console box. Then I can create NPCs, but it takes away all the other admin commands, such as "/amstatus". So how do I authorize, for example, a rank to create NPCs, or any other command without taking away the default commands?
Oh, and is there bit value that covers all commands, so I don't have to type the bit value of each command out individually?
