ok well I should start by saying this is NOT another noob going WHY WONT MY SERVER SHOW ON LIST!!! :P

My problem is that.

I used to have a dynamic ip and was able to use a switch for my net. I have 2 computers on this internet and i use no-ip DUC for ipforwarding for my servers. My father was a idiout and upgraded the internet here to a plan that comes with a static ip (which they will not change....)

Being a static Ip I now need to use a router to use both computers. I have used www.portforward.com and forwarded my server and it works perfectly. Unfortuanetly it apears my router is blocking the heartbeat sent to the ravensoft server list (yes I know it shows for me as a lan server)

I can conect to it with my internet ip, local ip AND my forwarded ip as can friends from other locations. What we CANT do is make it show on the main list.

If I unhook my router and use just my modem it shows on list perfectly.

What I need is the port that needs to be forwarded that the main server list heartbeat uses. That way i can diagnose if its a prob with my router not forwarding a certian port or maybe its that most routers dont block that port. For the record I am using a netcore 2105nr broadband router (some sites refer to it as a netcoretech

any help would be apreciated Subterfuge

Did you forward UDP ports 29060 through 29062 and 29070 through 29081 ?

You need to open the ports your server uses... So basicly it's IP : port

Put the port open that you have...

I have already forwarded ports listed on portforward.com (if I hadent the server would not be up....) um... I just re-read taco's post and he said 29060 etc... on port forward it said 28060 etc for me.... gona try forwarding 29***'s now and see if that helps, if not maybe it was a typo by taco... lol anyways I had forwarded 28060-28062 28070-28081 odd though cause when I open the 28*** ports all of the server works except on list... anyways I will try using 29*** and see if that helps After changing all forwarded ports on my router from 28*** to 29*** the server will not function at all. I am going to try forwarding both versions at the same time (assuming my router will allow 30+ forwarded ports lol) and see if that helps at all... But I assume it was just a typo from taco seing as www.portforward.com lists only 28*** extensions

JA uses the 29070 etc ports. 28070 is for JO, so no typo there buddy. :) The info on portforward.com lists the same exact ports for both JA and JO, that is incorrect. http://www.chopshopservers.com/education/index.htm For more info.

I'm curious, does it say anything about the "send heartbeat" in your servers console ? Also, if you type net_port in the server console, what port does it say that it's using ?

its using 29070 and yes it shows heartbeats sending... the rly confusing thing is the server actualy works witht he 28070 ports.... ppl can connect and play perfectly.... when I tryed the 29070 ports the whole server stoped working (yes I reforwarded ports and rehosted server and everything after) anyways i will go mess around with it tonight.. thats rly messe dup tho lol I just tryed again. I deleted ALL forwarded ports and forwarded 29060-29062 29070-29082 and server dont work at all. I am using no-ip.duc for port forwarding but I also tryed my normal ip (instead of doing /connect emos.no-ip.info I used the actual ip) And it dont connect at all... Net_port in console shows 29070. I am using the jampded.exe files from raven soft ooh and I just tryed using normal dedicated hosting from the game menu and when I try to connect to it when I do that it says that emos.no-ip.info is a bad ip lol... it dont usualy do that.. ooh and normal ip dont work for that either...

^ I think that is considered spam.

Anyway... I found portforward not to work properley for me. I just open the ports, then close em' later.
