Here's the deal. I want to host a server for my clan, on a seperate computer, through a router. Both of the computers are connected to the internet through a router. I have everything installed everything is smooth, I run the server, but when I go to connect I cannot find it anywhere on the servers list and I cannot connect to it by the console. I've opened all the ports needed by JKA and even did a DMZ (opens up every port allowing all connections to your computer) And still nothing. Anyone have ANY idea? I'm getting desperate here because I really want this server up and running ...

JA+ ... I've got 3 IP's when I log into my Router Settings things...

I've got the IP of the router? The IP of my comp and the ip of the host comp ...

I open all ports on every single one and still nothing ... Its rediculous .

If anyone will add me on xfire (hxcgrim) or msn (hxcpie@hotmail.com) ... it'd be easier to talk about it there...

I've opened up every single port and it still says im' behind a firewall/router

I have heard that some service providers may block your server. The only way to fix this is to contact your service provider and have them unblock it. I don't think this your problem. If it's still saying that you are behind a firewall even though its been turned off, I would guess thats where your issue lies. Some firewalls or anti-virus programs will continue to block your computer even if they're turned off. The only way to fix this is to turn them on, go into settings and tell it to shut everything off, (firewall, automatic downloads, automatic antivirus scanning.) It will usually ask how long you want it shut off. I would put permanently or until system restarts. Then shut down these programs when you're done. Be sure to shut off windows firewall too. A good way to check to see if your server is blocked by a firewall is to ping it from a different system on your router. If you get a reply, you have been successfully unblocked. If there is no response, you still have a firewall running somewhere.

Don't ever lower your firewall. A home-hosted game server is too crappy to make yourself that vulnerable over. Did you forward the necessary port on your router?

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

He's using a separate system for his main computer. It doesn't matter if his server is exposed to the internet or not. Turning all the firewalls off on the server is the only way for it to show up on the jka server list. All the port forwarding in the world won't affect the server if it has a firewall turned on. :0wned:

First check if your firewall is blocking the server ! After that search for your ip adress at : http://www.myipadress.org/ . after that try to start the server & add to your ip adress the port 21000 . ex: 82.113.426.98:21000 & try to add your server to favorites !

P.S: Moderators listen to me , i didnt even needed to open ports or change firewall proxy !

MrQuick(IA)He's using a separate system for his main computer.
It doesn't matter whether it's a seperate system or not. Only an idiot would lower any firewall. Remember - his auxiliary system is likely connected to his main system. Gaining access to one can be used as a backdoor to the other.
MrQuick(IA)It doesn't matter if his server is exposed to the internet or not.
Yes, it does. Not only for the above reason, but because an unprotected gameserver is extremely vulnerable to crashes and DDoS attacks.
MrQuick(IA)Turning all the firewalls off on the server is the only way for it to show up on the jka server list.
No, it's not. Ever heard of unblocking the program in the firewall? The only time a firewall will ever interfere with a server, is if you've denied server rights to the process.
All the port forwarding in the world won't affect the server if it has a firewall turned on.

*sigh* You have no idea how utterly wrong you are. In fact, port forwarding is probably the exact reason his server probably isn't showing on the list, if he's on a router.

(Although why anyone in the world even needs a router to begin with, I'll never know...) As I said, a firewall will never stop a server process from working unless you yourself tell the firewall to block it.
:0wned:

Grow up.
