OK Ive been hella pissed at this lately. Up till a few days ago ive been playin on my clan server '188.8.131.52:29070' which i have in my FAVORITES SECTION... and out of the blue it just doesnt show up any more it used to say ds server or dim side server but when i look its just an ip:port with a game with empty players and i cannot connect. I talked to other people who were on the server thru aim and they said its up, they gave me the exact same ip and said theres like 12 people in it and im just like WTF heres a screenshot to see if u got any ideas. Help me god damnit! Im praying for answers! if the shot doesnt work just go to http://www.geocities.com/chwistapher/wtf.PNG
ok i dont know wtf is up with geocities but it obviously wont let people view its things from other locations. Just copy the link of the pic and put it in your browser.
Come on people, i really need to know whats going on before i get kicked out of my clan for not being there enough....
could it be a router/firewall problem? what if the port is suddenly blocked or something?

yes, it very well could be. Or an anti-virus problem.
I had the same problem. Download the all seeing eye, it's a more advanced server detection program. It worked for me. Get it here: http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html
Hmm so i just found out i cannot view servers with ports 29070 is there a way you can connect to a server with a different port?
I believe you can also open 29060-29075. use set net_port That should do it.

eh give me an example lol
The problem is a port conflict. The default port for JK2 is 28070 (29070 for Jedi Academy). The server starts up using the default port (28070) and other people using different IP addresses can use the same port to join your server. However, when you start your client, it is on the same IP address as the server and it is trying to use the same default port (28070) that is already in use by the server, therefore it can't connect. You need to change the port used by your client. You can either: 1. start your client, then open the console and enter /set net_port 28071, then refresh the server list 2. Make a shortcut to your jk2mp.exe program, then in Properties change the Target line to read "C:\Program Files\LucasArts\Star Wars JK II Jedi Outcast\GameData\jk2mp.exe" +set net_port 28071 (assuming you installed in the default directory. Just add +set net_port 28071 after \jk2mp.exe". Then use the shortcut to start your client and the port will always be set to 28071. You can still join other servers using port 28071 because servers will accept connections from ports 28070 to at least 28075 (maybe even higher, haven't tested those yet. I know that range will work), so you can always use port 28071 for your client. It's best to leave the server on the default port (28070). In both cases your server will be listed under Local, not Internet (because it is Local to your client, and you aren't using the Internet to connect to it).
