I'm having a problem with either game setup, I tried multiple installs from different locations of my hard drive. I've had this game running before on this same PC, and I did no hard-drive wipes. In the past to get this working a remember a friend needing to host some files for me to download, I'm not entirely sure on that memory though. I believe it was some sort of config file I needed. I am on Windows7, I have updated my drivers, I have also checked off compatibility and Admin Permissions. The game crashes the the Jedi Knight Academy splash screen, and from there gives no error messages. Here are the contents of my install; C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Academy Gamedata- EaxMan IFC22 jagamex86 jamp jasp OpenAL32 version Base(folder)- *assets0 *assets1 *assets2 *assets3 Please tell me if you have any important files I do not, and if you have the file, please tell me a way to retrieve via the disc or by the internet. Thank you.

I find your lack of files disturbing. =p

If you own a legal copy of the game you already have all the necessary files needed to run it. It would be kinda stupid for the publisher to publish the game without all the files the game needs to run, no? ;) Granted, this game came out before Windows 7, but that shouldn't matter.

Your problem is something else. Perhaps some older driver version would do the trick?

I'm having the same problem - in fact, I was just about to post about it.

Windows XP 32-bit and windows 7, 64-bit are both not working - also, I have the CDs and the Steam version and neither of those worked on either OS.

My video driver is a comfy little 190 MB, so I'm ecstatic about the possibility of needing to try an older driver.

Please, someone appear with a magical solution that doesn't involve a video driver. XD

Update: Updating my video driver fixed it for windows 7...haven't tried XP, though.

When did that happen? As far as I know, you never had any problems running this game. If you did, I don't remember seeing any of your posts about it. :wiener: Did you change your graphic card or tampered with your computer in any other way?

What graphics card do you have? Is it AMD/ATI, or NVIDIA? It sounds like the same problem people were having a while ago with their AMD/ATI cards, caused by bad video drivers. The latest 2 driver versions have fixed the problem though.

Spoiler: Show

New computer... finally got fed up with the ol laptops. Quad-core, whopper graphics card, TB hard drive, big HD screen, the whole shebang. :sillyme:

Portal 2 at 640x480 with all settings at minimum running at 10-20 fps was the last straw. XD

Yes, that's been going on for a long time, I remember a lot of people posting about it.

My card is an ATI Radeon HD 5770. The Catalyst 11.2 drivers seemed to fix the issue. The latest version is 11.4, but my card manufacturer only has 11.2 so far.

Besides, I'd never put an NVidia chip in my computer if my life depended on it. :p

In any case, according to the starter of this thread: [QUOTE=PaulBriss;5501212]...I have updated my drivers...
So, version 11.2 should do the trick for him too, if he has another version installed. Assuming he has ATI graphic card, of course. [QUOTE=NAB622;5501645]Besides, I'd never put an NVidia chip in my computer if my life depended on it. :p
