:( I recently installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit on a brand new 1tb hard drive. It ran most things without problems, and the few other problems I ran into I got sorted out fairly easily. But this is a different story. I've tried all the obvious stuff, like updating gfx drivers, clean install, all that. The game shows the splash screen, my mouse appears, then it gives me the windows "Jamp.exe has encountered an error and needs to close"

I'm running the ATI Radeon 4890, and I know there have been some problems with the ATI Catalyst Control Panel 10.5+ and Q3 based games. There was a suggestion on the boards about how to fix it, but apparently the "extract" command it says to use is an invalid command. I can't get a console log, and windows gives me this

I've gotten normal Windows 7 JK3 to work via the solution provided below:

Use Windows XP Service Pack 2 or 3, click on Run This Program as an Administrator.

However, if you cannot fix it through these, I dunno what to tell you.

Have you properly updated directx? This can sometimes be the problem.

I'd wait for Xycaleth to fix up that tutorial. I'll poke him when he's on IRC tonight.

Using a previous a version of ATI OpenGL Drivers fixed my CTD problem for Jedi Academy under Windows 7 x64. I didn't know up to which version of the drivers it was going to work, so tonight I'm testing the .dll that came with 10.4 (I think I'm using an ever older version).

I've fixed the instructions in the topic atton was referring to. And the problem only came along in 10.5 onwards. You should be fine with 10.4 :)
