My friend just got a new HP laptop with Windows Vista home premium. It will play all of JKII and JKA singleplayer perfectly, but not multiplayer. We've tried running the laptop in compatibility mode for XP, we have the most recent version of Direct X which works on XP, but still no luck.

If anyone has a solution that would be great, but even an explination would be helpful. Thank you very much in advance.

Do you get an error message or what? It would be more helpful if I had something else to work with then just "multiplayer doesn't work".

go to the jamp.exe in your lucasarts folder, and right click it and run it as an administrator it messes up when it trys to write files to your base folder, vista doesnt like it

Thank you so much! The administrator suggestion worked and my friend can play now. Thank you so much.

That sounds like one of the other problems I've heard about with Vista, but most medium priced laptops come with generic Intel video cards and the only JA problem in that case is fixed with the 'run as administrator' option. Thanks for pointing out the graphics card fixes for other Vista problems though.
