Well...this is my first post, and this is the oroginal reason I joined here, but I know there will be plenty of other reasons for me to join, but first off I have this slight problem: x-fire, come on, we ALL love it, but at the moment, I HATE it. OK, I downloaded it a few days ago, about a week, and that's when the problems started. I attempted to get onto JASP but I had too many pk3s, so I deleted about a quarter of them and I could get on. The game worked as usual (as in, my charcter wasn't viewed or heard in the cutscenes and the second cutscene, where Rosh uses the force to open the gate, didn't happen) except for the howlers didn't spawn. So, after that second cutscene I thought 'stuff this' and logged off, intending to go to the server RPGuni cubed (Hey mah RPGU homies :D ) but it come up with one of those 'Jedi Academy Multiplayer needs to close, we are sorry for the inconvinience' things after the screen that comes up when loading the game, not the server, asking me to send an error report to microsoft. I clicked 'no' as I always do, and it exited the game. I posted on the RPGU forums, and they suggested reinstalling JA. I did so, but the game was still stuffed. I moved the gamedata folder and reinstalled the game again, then moved gamedata back. It was still stuffed. I tried once more, just 'cos I was annoyed. Didn't work. Then my friend Rahv suggested reinstalling x-fire. I did. Guess what? Still stuffed. :bawl: So I ask if anyone can help me here. I still havn't posted on my clan's forums (LHC) but I'm planning to, though I'm expecting the same response from them as from RPGuni. I havn't tried any other games yet to see if they're affected, but I'm planning to. Help will be much appreciated.

Ok, first of all, you need to turn off stat tracking in the Xfire options. its been known to cause problems. Also, another reinstall is problably a good idea. This time, make sure you ininstall first. Once you did that, go back to your program files and check that the lucasarts folder is gone (just remember to back up your game saves.) and THEN install again.

X-fire needs work on joining servers on JA. For me, I join the server through Xfire, it loads, and when it connects I get the connection interrupted message in-game. I end up having to disconnect, then reconnect to the server to get it to work right, waisting time that I could have been playing. Short answer: don't use X-fire to join games in JA.

I had the same problem. ( as far as the sp stuff goes ) Thats surely because of the pk3-s. I don't know why but mods and/or maps mess up single player, so try reinstalling and only putting in files you absolutely need or play sp without the mods. The only thing that X-Fire does is the " name is (name) default name padawan" in the console every 5 minutes and that gets really annoying when you have Kill Tracker....

Well thats my solution....

You can fix the "name spam" problem by going into Xfire's options and disabling the stat tracking option.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

The "name spam" as you put it happens to me all the time, and I don't use X-fire very much. It happens more often in Makermod though.
