May I present one of the shortest guides ever written on these forums: Installing Mods 1: Drag mod to overide folder in your KotOR directory Uninstalling Mods 1: Delete mod from overide folder Note: Do not install or uninstall mods while the game is running. If you have any questions, problems, comments, etc, feel free to post them.

Well, if you believe in having a uniform skin color, try removing skins while the game is running, the effect it quite interesting. :p

Also, be sure not to install mods that might conflict with each other, that can crash the game. Best to try one at a time and add them slowly so you know which ones don't work with the currect ones...

For example two reskins of bastila ( unlesss one is for character and other is for an accessory) you dont want to mix them

Say I want to reskin one of the playable characters and I know what the texture name is. I haven't downloaded any modding toolkits for the game, and would rather not. All I'm interested in is reskinning, and a program to let me find out what the texture filenames are.

I just want to reskin the playable characters or your NPC team.

I believe to extract the textures you'll need Fred Tetra's KotOR tool. Very small very handy prog, and you wouldn't really need anything else, other than a graphics editor of course. For future reference, don't bring up old threads like this. You can feel free to post a new thread.

I've tried to extract the textures. I change to TGA and place in my game's Override folder. It doesn't do anything. I would just as well replace the files in the archives but can't figure out how to get it to override what is in the game. Any advice?

Hmm, placing them in override *should* work. Did you keep the names the same? Did you get all the images?

Placing the TGA's into the override should work? Hmm. I'm just trying to reskin one of the playable male characters from the beginning of the game. All of these are TGA files. PMRC01 PMRC01d PMRC01d1 PMRC01d2 PO_PMRc1 PO_PMRc1d PO_PMRc1d1 PO_PMRc1d2 PO_PMRc1d3 That should be the icons and the face textures for that particular character.. I'll try to reinstall so I can get my registry to match up where my game is, and try this one more time.. I'll extract the files again and place them back in my override directory.

Whoops.. I got the name of those files before I had KOTOR tool working. I had the wrong filenames. It is working fine now. Thanks.
