i'm new to kotor modding, i'm wondering if it is possible to change the type of laser that fires from a weapon, what i want to do is change a pistol so it fires disruptor rounds instead of the normal laser rounds

Disruptor rounds? You mean you're a Romulan? Traitorous pa'tak (or however you spell it, the subtitles keep changing)! So you want green bolts? I say Romulan because the Klingons have red bolts, though they are very slightly different from SW lasers. There's probably a file somewhere which you can paint over. You'll have to wait until a more experienced modder comes along though for comfirmation. I've only edited launchers so far. Sorry.

I'm guessing they mean the disruptor from the game. ;) The disruptor fire is white. I'm sure it's possible, but I don't know how to.

what i mean is like what jcarter said, i'm trying to make it so the gun seems more like a real gun, so i want it to fire the disruptor rounds

I'd look through KOTOR Tool. It's got to be in there somewhere.

Yeah, it's not in the .uti. Try looking in the textures (ERFs).

there's a lot of textures, but i don't think it would be in the textures anyway, i'd rather not retexture anything if it wasn't absolutely necessary

If it's a custom model, just make it a disruptor class... that's the easiest way to do what you want without potentially causing compatibility problems with other mods.
