It's "Smuggler, scoundrel...you'd like him." I agree. Don't all these class discussions belong in the SW General Talk Forum? What do they have to do with KOTOR?

They are about the classes in KOTOR. That's why it's in the KOTOR area.

Those classes aren't just for the KOTOR era though. Those classes are a tradition, and have been carried out into the movies, but I'm not sure whether or not Luke set the same class system up with the New Jedi Order though. But in my opinion, you should just keep the class stuff here, because not everyone knows that. Put this in the regular Star Wars and you'll have people saying "WTF is Jedi Guardian? Obi Wan isn't a jedi guardian! He's just a regular jedi!" XD so, yeah.

You are wrong, my young apprentice. You still have much to learn. The Old Republic had prestige classes up till the time of the New Sith Wars. In the last 1000 years the practices of training prestige classes fell off greatly for their was no true need. Look at Cin Drallig, though. He was the Jedi Weapons Master of the Temple on Coruscant during the Clone Wars and every Jedi trained with him on advanced Lightsaber tactics, techniques and strategies. Each Jedi was encouraged to follow a path and those were Guardian, Sentinel and Consular, though Lucas never mentioned them, they were later retconned. He originally stated that there are only 3 lightsaber colors; blue, green and red. But he let Sam Jackson have purple, his favorite color and the other colors were retconned. So you see, my young apprentice, there were Jedi classes even during that time. Mace Windu seems to have been a a hybrid Guardian/Sentinel, Yoda seems to have been all 3 classes in his 900 years, Ki-Adi-Mundi was a Guardian, Plo Koon was a Sentinel (yellow lightsaber), Obi-Wan and Anakin were both Guardians. Luke didn't set up his New Jedi Order training like the old system. Realizing tha he had a much smaller pool of Force sensitives to draw from and the dire need to rebuild the Order quickly, Luke did away with several old hinderances and training methods like not accepting older students and adults for training and allowina Knight or Master to train more than one apprentice at a time. He just had each master focus on what each student seems to be talented in and has them focus on developing that aspect. For all intents and purposes, you could say that his New Jedi Order is a mixture of all three old school styles of training. Heck, Luke began his training as a Guardian and ended up being more of a Consular. So what's to say that he's not blending all three?

I know that about the prestige classes, but the regular classes still existed. And it actually made me kind of mad the idea of just blue, green, and red. There should be an infinite number of colors, which is being done. Jedi Academy- blue, green, orange, yellow, purple, red. KOTOR added Mantle of the Force (Cyan) and Heart of the Guardian (Orange). And KOTOR 2 added silver and viridian. what do you think is next? hmm. I like that idea. I might do that...

There is no need for you to make a shit load of threads asking what class each character is in. Its nothing but blatant attempts at boosting your post count.

My young apprentice: If you bothered to read the vast amount of material out there on the New Jedi Order, you would have found that by the time of the Rise of the Empire, the only crystal caves that the Jedi had regular access to were those on Ilum. This is part of the back story of the Old Republic Jedi era that Lucas created. The locations of other crystal caves were either lost to time or destroyed by some sort of natural event or conflagration. A Jedi could forge a synthetic crystal, but this was seen as a last resort if no natural crystals could be obtained. During the formation of the New Republic and the New Jedi Order, Luke Skywalker was able to relocate many previously believed-to-have-been-lost crystal caves. The purple, orange, cyan, gold and bronze colored crystals became available again after either visiting certain worlds or sifting through Palpatine's records. Silver was an interesting color choice. Since it glows faintly silvery white, one could argue that the only kind of trained Force user to use such would be one that holds no loyaties or ties to either the light or the dark. Sounds more like Gray-Jedi. That is also the choosen blade color for Roan Fel's Imperial Knights.
