It would be wise not to use the Revan Robes mod, seeing as the Brotherhood of Shadow: Solomon's Revenge already uses the same/similar one. If I remember correctly, both use the same filename. Anyway, it's most likely not causing your issue. I see you're not sure of the compatibility of the mods you use? Fortunately, a tool has been made for use in order to avoid these problems, being incompatibility.

The tool is called the KOTOR Mod Manager and is rather easy to use -- for both KotOR and TSL. You can download the tool HERE. Just scroll down to the header 'Mod Compatibility Tools' and download the KOTOR Mod Manager. Using it, as mentioned before, is rather easy. Once you've downloaded and opened the Manager, you'll see it requires you to create a KOTOR and/or TSL mod folder, whereas you'll put in the downloaded mods. For instance, you could create a KOTOR mod folder within this path (C:\kotor 1 mods). After downloading a modification, open it up in WinRAR (or another program) and extract it to a folder which is named after the mod (ie. "Brotherhood of Shadow"). Then, simply move the FOLDER (not the downloaded .zip/.rar) into the recently-made mod folder (C:\kotor 1 mods) and you can begin the "installation" of the mods without the fear of facing incompatibility issues, seeing as the KOTOR Mod Manager stops installation if it encounters problems. It'll also warn you so you're aware of certain incompatibility issues.

Try to "re-install" all of your mods, using the KOTOR Mod Manager and see if that fixes your issue. Certain incompatibility matters can be caused by mods that use textures (most of them do).

Hope that helps.

Hi,

Firstly what a great MOD. Its come a long way and really enjoyed its last release. Secondly, no Graeme I am not stalking you just a mere coincidance that I know exactly what Babacu is talking about.

Babacu, May I ask you what other mods you have running as I have seen the exact same probs as you. Example being no force cage but the characthers stand there with comp terminals sticking outa em. I also expierenced toons changing skins like Verbal became a Bith at one point and similar expierences.

I know you stated some mods, that all of em? Graeme is correct about the Revan robes issue. The reason actually makes sense as this mod looks at the story before Revan became a sith lord hence a different robe, I had the same robe mods and it caused issues but it dosnt explain the other probs you have mentioned.

As far as I can see "Shems Force gain/powers mods" are not causing probs. Oh I used KMM its great and well worth it but obviously I still had probs.

Lets us know ya MODs so I can compare against mine, perhaps WE can find what causes this problem as it was spoiler on a brilliant MOD.

btw Yavin 4 MOD is known to cause probs as mentioned by the author, he recomends installing prior to BOS. I did so but still believe it may have caused the issues...did you use this mod?

It's most likely a bug. Be sure to uninstall the game via Programs & Features in Control Panel, then make sure the game folder is gone as well as your Temp files (C:\Windows\Temp). You should check if your registry does not contain any KotOR entries. If it does, you should delete the entries. Be careful though, you really don't want to face certain problems if you accidentally delete the wrong entry. This could also be an InstallShield bug, however. Quoting my FAQ. Follow these steps:

I cannot seem to reinstall my game, probably because InstallShield is 'bugged'. Yes, in this case, your InstallShield is probably bugged with entries and files of previous installations. This problem also occurs if an installation has been cancelled. This is not always, though. In order to successsfully re-install your game, try to do the following. Open up 'My Computer' and make sure you can view all files/folders. Go to your [C:] hard drive and open 'Program Files'. An InstallShield folder should be visible. There, find the folder with the following name. "{2A9A40C7-6670-4D5F-8F41-D12E2E08B48B}". Delete that file. Watch out, though. Some files have a similar name, so be careful please. To be even more certain of your actions, try deleting your Temp folder, seeing as they could contain InstallShield files still, located here (C:/WINDOWS/Temp).

I could not find any similar problems to yours before, so what I would suggest, is to delete the game directory manually (in program files) and download RegCleaner, HERE.. Go to both the 'uninstallation' tab, as well as 'software' and remove the Knights of the Old Republic entries. Then, perform the InstallShield thing I mentioned in the post above. Quoting:

Previous post I cannot seem to reinstall my game, probably because InstallShield is 'bugged'. Now that all of the KOTOR entries are supposed to be gone, as well as the game directory you've removed, you should be able to install KOTOR once more without any problem. At least, if you've performed the steps properly.

Hope that helps.

Hmm, strangely enough many people seem to have problems with the KOTOR Mod Manager usage, but it really isn't as hard as it looks. I guess I could elaborate it even further in my FAQ. Anyway, as said, it isn't that hard.

Once you've downloaded the KOTOR Mod Manager, open up the .zip file and you should see the file(s). Extract them to a location, wherever you want to (preferrably the desktop). Before opening the program, make two folders named 'kotor 1 mods' and 'kotor 2 mods' in whichever location you want (ie. "C:\kotor 1 mods"). Your downloaded mods are in *.rar/*.zip files. However, you need to extract all files in the mod .zip and put them in a folder on your desktop, which has the same name as the mod, in order to avoid confusion when installing mods via KMM.

Now, you should have a folder on your desktop, named as 'Brotherhood of Shadow: SR', as to take an example. Move that folder into the (C:\kotor 1 mods) directory. Once you've done it to all mods you intend to install, you may open the KOTOR Mod Manager. Once opened, you should notice a pop-up, which requires you to set the preferences. The game directory paths should be filled in already. Fix them if they're incorrect. Now, specify the 'kotor 1 mods' and 'kotor 2 mods' directory paths ("C:\kotor 1 mods" and "C:\kotor 2 mods" in my example). Press OK. Be sure that the selection on top is set to the 'Kotor 1' tab. Now, click on 'add mod' at the bottom, and select the mod you wish to install/use. You should notice that the mod's name pops up in the top window. Press 'add mod' every time until you've done it to all mods you wish to install. Now you can select the mods in the top window and press "Activate Mod" to install them. If done properly, you can see the progress in the Console application.

Any incompatibility issues or errors will be noticed by the KOTOR Mod Manager and it'll inform you of this matter. Do note: some mods combinations, such as Yavin IV + Brotherhood of Shadow (if I remember correctly), need to be installed in a specific order. If this is the case, the README should contain the needed information.

Hope that helps.
