Ok, I'm not quite sure whats up here. I've installed KotOR 1 on my computer, and I've inserted disc 1 to play the game. I click on "game" and the picture of the Ebon Hawk appears, then I get some random error message that is in a font my computer appears to lack, as most of the message is composed of boxes. Anyways, then the Ebon Hawk picture disappears and nothing more happens. I ran the updater, and upgraded to 1.03 or whatever, and still no luck. Any ideas as to what is causing this problem?
Hmm... Try a "scan hardware" under configuration (I think.) Your computer may not be up to the required specs.
If you need more help, go here: LucasForums - The Work Bench
They should be able to answer all of your questions.
I checked out all the specs, and my computer definitely meets all the required, and most of the recommended. I'll check out LucasForums. Thanks.
Usualy, when it is a spec-related issue, a window pops out prompting you to check your pc's hardware. The software, however, is a different matter. You could try everything under the sun to make a game work and the engine would still give you next to nothing on software matters. You should try to update your java, DirectX and graphic card's codecs; these are often the main programs causing errors in videogames. It could also be your graphic card is outdated or not compatible; check the requirements for exceptions on hardware. It could also be due to the game not being an original copy. If none of the above work, try downloading some no-disc tweaks and patches. I would write the address where you may download them, but I remember one of the forum rules is not to do so. Regardless, you could look them up in a webpage known for it's modifications and tweaks on "megagames" =p
Update Nvida for you computer maybe download kotor patch and click on the shortcut after the ebon hawk disappers. ;)
