I think this is the fault of mods

KOTOR and KOTOR2 are constantly crashing randomly during the loading screens. They will occasionally freeze up when the loading bar has finished, then give me the Kotor.exe has made an error and must close, send report or don't send report, message.

I think it's probably because of the mods I've got in each game, but I don't even have too many mods, just a mod that lets me play as Bastila, changes her hair color, makes Jedi robes upgradeable, and that's it. (for KOTOR)

Sometimes it crashes so bad it ruins my display driver and I have to (sluggishly) restart my computer.

Not that it matters, since I've been able to play both KOTOR and KOTOR2 three times each before (without mods and without crashing constantly), but:

Operating System: Windows XP Build 2600, Service Pack 2 CPU/MEM: Intel P4 3GHz with Hyperthreading Monitor at 1024 by 768 32bit color 75Hz refresh

I also see no reason for the mods to be screwing with my games this way, as they run perfectly fine with the mods at random points when there are no crashes, and when I load an autosave where it crashed the time before, it may load fine without crash, then suddenly freeze up for five minutes and crash when I click on my inventory

Carth Romance patch fix 1.1, Bastila as PC (player), and a simple skin changing Bastila's hair to reddish, and her eyes more blue. KOTOR2 has a lot more mods installed (many many many), but crashes just as much (and not the same mods)

Two questions: 1. Have you used the KotOR updater? If you have the stock version, that could be the problem 2. How old are your video drivers? to find out: start>run put in dxdiag>display tab>driver info the date will be there

If your drivers are older than KotOR, then you need to update them, that is what fixed my stability problems (even though your comp is the polaric opposite of mine :D)

1) I used the updater (a long time ago) to go to version 1.03, but haven't tried updater since then

2) Date is 2/10/2004 12:10:08, though I'm not sure if thats Feb 10 or Oct 2
