greetings all, ive been having major loading problems in kotor just recently. these problems began when i got to the part of the game where you have to cleanse the tainted grove on dantooine (the jedi homeworld place). A lot of the times that i tried to load new areas, saved games, etc. the game crashed and came up with an error report (the one that asks you to send an error report) and then returned to the desktop. i have managed to make it to the planet tatooine after travelling to korriban and manaan beforehand, with these problems persisting the whole time i was on each of these planets. i dont understand these problems im having - its never happened before and whats most confusing is this: sometimes the game crashes, sometimes it doesn't. I now have to make sure i save before i enter each and every new area of the game, but there comes a time when one has just had enough of persistent problems like this. If anyone has a solution to this pain in the ass of a problem, i would LOVE to hear it.
i have the same problem. save every 15 minutes and you should be fine. then you won't have to start a save before where you are now.
If you haven't already done this, turn grass and shadows off in the graphics options.
thanx for the input guys. umm "tk58529" saving every 15 mins helps only because i can reload the game after it crashes - it doesn't prevent the game from crashing, which is kind of what im looking for. Tarvos - thanx but i already tried; no difference. i think theres something else wrong - its probably reading the disc or a game file wrong. i used a fair few cheats in case that influences anything...
yeah i know
Put all your graphics options down to low, grass and shadows off. check how much hard disk space you have. i had a problem like this once and clearing up my disk helped. also viruses and spyware can make particular games run slowly by using all your processing time, so run a scan. also you could try reinstalling the game, that might help too.
That has happened to me before. Save frequently, and that might work.
