Atfer finishing the first level on the Endar Spire I hopped in the escape pod, saw the first half second of the movie which should follow and than got an error... I tried it over and over again... but no luck! Found some guys save games on the net, edited my name, class and used them from the Hide Out on Tarris. All went well till... I rescued Bastilla, talked to her and got the very same problem again! This time it's that movie where you see her and 3 others attack a Revan I think! I can watch the movies from the main menu, but I dont want to do the same again! Any advice?
PS I am using the 'Star Wars: Best of PC' version (comes already patched to 1.03) and did try to install and uninstall several times. Oh and pressing alt+Tab gives errors as well!
What OS are you working on? Give some specifications as to your hardware and software. Be also aware most of the issues are related to the Best of PC version of the game. Wether this is merely a coincidence (seeing as it would be easier to find such version to the original one) or it is relevant, remains to be seen.
I give you the report which I get from the 'analyse computer' function:

Oh and why it states "Star Wars: Empire at War" I do not know... both games are on the same DVD... but I am 200% sure that I used the analyze computer button from the proper menu! (the KOTOR-menu that is of course!)

Is your copy bootlegged?
You mean bootlegged as in illegal? It's all legal what I got here! Best of PC box with 3 dvd's I believe, several games together in a box. (StarWarsShop.com - Star Wars®: The Best of PC (PC-DVD-ROM)) Bought it over a year ago and played all the other games but KOTOR wouldnt work cause of the specific video-card requirements. Got a new laptop from work last week so gave it a try again this weekend!
Thinking of downloading the game since I already purchased it and than use the downloaded version to get past the places where I get stuck! I guess that is legal right? Otherwise Bioware or Lucasarts should email me, I will email them my save game, they open it, get through the place where I get this error, save the game and email it back! Or fix a patch for this specific error! Dont think they will!
Best of PC causes some trouble. That may be the reason.
Do you have mods installed? If so, which are they?
No mods, just installed the game, started playing got the error.. tried it a couple of times... figured out a reinstall might work and did that. No luck, did another reinstall... no progress... than went to the net, saw this guys savegames, also no mods used btw and edited them with KSE, only altered pic, class, gender and than played entire Taris till I got to Bastilla... and when this short movie between the levels should appear I see the first second of it and than *woosh* error screen which you get everytime a program ends unexpectedly! I can watch that movie from the main menu though! Tried hitting escape and enter before it gets stuck but no luck! Anyone know how to make the program skip playing those movies? I dont think deleting them will do any good but cause only more trouble!
OK, I downloaded an illegal copy, installed it. Used the save game from my legal copy and... to my surprise I found that you can disable movies with the non-bestofpc-version. There's this small program called swconfig.exe with the program! Got through them movie scenes all right but getting errors somewhere else now. Gonna install the legal one again and see what happens there.. never had such a rubbish product, but the game is great! (otherwise I wouldnt bother...) Thanks for helping lads! If any other user needs the swconfig.exe file let me know! I have no clue if it works with the best of pc version, I'll try!
