Hi everybody. Recently, I bought a new computer with the "gorgeous" Windows Vista installed. A friend of mine gave me back KOTOR II after completing the whole game (a thing I couldn't do on my old computer because of a graphic problem that f$%&ed up all the installation and the game never ran again), so I said to myself, "Ok, Carlos, after three or four years, you can play your game. Congratulations". So I installed it perfectly and click on "Play KOTOR II" and... guess what? YES! IT DOESN'T FREAKING WORKS. All I have is the "KOTOR II dejó de funcionar" message, which in spanish means "The program stop working or alike, which means "Hey, jackass, this definetely doesn't works. Screw you!" So I decided to calm down and look for updates. I patched the game via its own updater. I Restarted the computer, restarted the game. "Screw you, again". But I didn't give up, and I downloaded the official patch named "sw_pc_english_from200424_to210427". I ran it and...TADAAAA! It said something like "Old file not found" when it's at the 90% of the patching stuff. Which actually means: "Screw you once more, poor sad loser". What can I do? I'm totally desperated and all the solutions I found was for the nVidia drivers for GForce cards, but not for my ATI Radeon HD 2400 PRO, and I'm not precisely a Kevin Mitnick on computers, you know... I supose it's a problem of the graphic card because I pass all the minimun and recommended requirements by far. DO YOU HAVE A SOLUTION FOR ME? Thank you and forgive me if I made some mistakes writing, through English is not my language.

Ah, this is familiar. All right, here's what you need to do: First, there's something wrong with one of K2's file, the Mss32.dll. There's a fixed version on FF. Second, there's a million things wrong with Vista. If the above doesn't work, then uninstall K2. And when you go to reinstall it, don't let it autoplay; you have to manually install SWKotOR2.exe as an administrator. And don't forget to replace the Mss32.dll when you're done. And I always run it in compatibility mode and as an administrator, just to be safe.

Or, you could do the smart thing and dump Vista for good. Seriously, there are lots of widgets and tweaks available for XP that surpass Vista in every way. The single thing we are still working on are Animated Wallpapers, but there's this guy, Tiggz, at Wincustomize... the guy's a genious, and he is already developing gizmos on Desktop X that simulate such. Go and get a fresh XP, join the club!!

 That's a good solution too...if only the Evil Empire didn't charge so gorram much for it. Oh, and speaking of Microsoft, they've released some new updates for Vista, last week or so.
