Well I finished long ago kotor 1, and uninstalled it. Now I want to install it again to play it, but from the uninstallation left a 7.5 MB file with error. Now when it tries to install, it first tries to uninstall of course, and does error Well I deleted the registery key of it, and the folder of game of course. But I think theres a hidden folder I must delete, not sure though. Either way, please help me if you know what to do, it may not be a hidden folder, but if it is, maybe someone knows where is it? The exact error it displays when I try to uninstall: "ERROR!

An error has occured and uninstall cannot proceed. Please contact technical support"

Please help me. Thanks.

Did you run a full defrag of you HD. That might help. It gets so that if KOTOR has a big file it can't install. Check the directory in C:Program files/Lucas Arts/KoToR and see if there is anything there. Go to Control Panel and check and see if the listing of KOTOR on the install/remove directory is gone. I uninstalled about six months ago installed about one month ago and didn;t have any problems. sorry By the way do you know what the error message said?

Luckily for your my friend, I have had the same problem.

I also found a solution to it so if anyone knows anyone that also needs the fix here it is....

IMPORTANT - SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE STARTING! I WILL NOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE IF THIS GOES WRONG!

Go to C:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information\

Now this fixed my problem, not sure if it will work for you but here we go....

You will have to search through all the folders there, checking the Setup.ini file in the ones you can find it, and if you cannot find it in a folder just carry on.

You will have to go into a folder, open the Setup.ini file (Notepad will do.) and check for the line:

AppName=Star Wars(TM): Knights of the Old Republic (TM)

It should be cearly visible. When you have found it, just delete that folder and run the installer and everything should work...

Or at least it did for me, if it doesn't work I have no idea how to fix it.

Hope it helps.
