Playing through KotOR for my 4th time now, for some reason I can't queue the dialogue that opens up quests such as Bastila's Romance or Carth's son. I'm at Dantooine currently and all my chars are level 11ish, but whenever I talk to any of my party members they won't tell me anything new (in fact, they haven't said anything new since I was on Taris). None of them have gotten beyond the first few conversations you have with them (Bastila I only had the one conversation with, the one where she tells you she sense you're sensitive in the force and says she'll speak with the Jedi council about it, and Carth just got to his 4th conversation, where he reveals that Saul Karath betrayed him, but won't mention anything about his wife and son).

I've levelled all my chars 2 or 3 times since I got to Dantooine and became a Jedi, and have done a few quests, and definately should be receiving some kind of response when I speak to my partners, but nothing.

Also, for some reason, Mission's quest isn't showing up in my quest log. The quest continues to progress and I even got that Twi'Lek Lena chick to come out at that Ebon Hawk hanger to speak about Mission's brother, but her quest isn't even listed in my log in either active or complete.

Is this some kind of known glitch? And if so, is there a fix that can get things running for me again, or am I going to have to start a new file from scratch?

You can try backing up your saved game and reinstalling the game. If that doesn't help starting a new game should. There is a little mod which effectively let's you skip Taris if you would want to get closer to your current point in the game.

Or you could be patient and continue the game until it becomes deadly obvious something is out of whack.

I think there is something bugged about the party Messenger Quests. I never, ever could get Jagi to show up, or get the thing with Juhani's old friend on Korriban to work, and on one play-through I only got the Bastila's Mother quest. There's something missing all right. There might not be anything you can do except start a new game.

You do know Jagi only shows up if there's only you and Canderous on the party and only if you haven't finished any other quest in the area at the same go, like say the last of the Genoharadan missions, right? And you do know Belaya only shows up in Korriban if you kill Juhani and are dark-sided, right? I have never experienced said "bugs", not in the multiple KOTOR PC versions I've installed along the years, nor in the XBOX one. Guess it's a matter of luck.

Yeah, yeah, I know.--it can't be after the Leviathan either (none of these quests can be). It's not any of those, especially since some of the other ones are bugged. And I don't mean Belaya...I mean Juhani's old friend who's a Sith archaeologist (hey, there are Mandalorian engineers!). You're supposed to talk to him and get him to leave the Sith and what not, but I never could. The most progress I could get was for him to show up in the cantina pissed off at me. Well, that was more than a little annoying.

Seems to be more or less working now, though for whatever reason it decided to make me get a fair bit farther into the game before it would queue the dialogues (and then suddenly I had 3 or 4 new conversations for each character).

Some of their quests still aren't showing up in my Quest Log, but as long as it's letting me progress the story, I guess that's all that matters.

I just thought of this... Assuming you're playing on PC, you can probably use KSE to fix it. I've had a similar problem with the message from Visquis not appearing in K2, and it's an easy fix in KSE.
