KOTOR 2 had better game play, but KOTOR 1 was less rushed

KotOR 1's story was a lot better than 2's, and 2's really wasn't that bad. It just wasn't polished off well. I didn't find the "new content" in KotOR2 to be all that exciting, though. There's not much new compared to the first one.

I am hoping future installments will be based on a newer version of the aurora engine, though as I hear NWN2 is still based on the old aurora engine... but maybe they've tweaked it some to make it better.

Ah, I'd tend to disagree with Inyri's assessment on the cut content for KotOR II. There was a significant portion of material cut that related directly to the Exile's quest, which answered several key questions (force bonds, people trying to kill the exile, etc) that would have enriched the gameplay a great deal.

That said, I'd say my personal favorite was K2, for the atmosphere. But you can hardly pit the two games against each other: it's like comparing 1,000,000 Dollars to 828,555.35 Euros. Both brilliant.

I wasn't talking about cut material, I was talking about new Force powers, new robes, etc. I can't say that "new content" wasn't appealing if you're assuming it's the "new content" that doesn't exist :p

I liked some parts of KOTOR 2 a lot, but overall the first one felt more like star wars. I mean when you opened up on Taris and saw the sky, and parts like the Leviathan and Tatooine really drew you in. And if you use Bao-Dur on Onderon Finale, with really high skills, you can kill Kreai in a few attacks. Malak at least posed a bit of a challenge.

Whoops, my mistake. Sorry about that Inyri. ;)

Personally, I liked the variety presented by the new style of robes, though they should have had a look more similar to the ones used in K1, rather than look like the ones used 4000 years later.
