I recently noticed that Visas Marr's species have a very interesting name. From what I know, "mira" means "look" in Spanish. Also, some would say that "luka" sounds a little like "looka." I thought this was interesting because the Miraluka are blind. Anyone else notice that?

The mira thing probably means that they see more because they see with the force. Or luka can mean "blind" or "disable" in a different laungage.

Oh, they were clever in her naming. I noticed the Mira-mirar, but not the luka, as in "look-a" or another language. Cool! :)

Well, ''mira'' In spanish does mean look, you are correct about that... ''miraluka'' sounds like look twice over... Visas Marr-Visas=Vision=Sight. There's your little...er...sight explanation type..thingy..

And Marr could derive from mar which means scar. Her eye sockets were slashed up by Nihilus, IIRC.

Indeed he was, hence the lack of eyes.

Nope, she was born without eyes.

Correct, Miraluka don't have eyes. The Miraluka are born without eyes and see only through the Force.

The only Miralukas I know of that have been featured in the EU were Visas Marr, Jerec and Shoaneb Culu.

Shoaneb Culu was a Jedi who died during the time of Exar Kun.
