Dark Lord and Master

If the third game does come out, then why would you not want to see Revan? I would prefer to play as Revan again as opposed to the Exile. Revan ruled. If the game play lets you level and gives you the Force Power Options of TSL, then Revan's bad-assedness is assured, right? So let the Exile come back as a secondary character or as a story character, any objections?
I'd rather play as the Exile. Frankly, I don't like Revan. :p But that's not why. I can't buy Revan as PC in K3. Of course, I can't buy the Exile as PC either...but the Exile I can understand more, since K2 set up the sequel to involve the Exile searching for Revan. And then there's the matter of having to set a canonical Revan/Exile. I for one would like to see a canonical Exile and Revan, but I'm of a very small minority. I have no delusions that it will happen. Thus, K3 will not set up a canonical Revan or Exile. So the easiest solution is to make one of them as the player character, and have the other either not appear...or not appear. Revan is the one who has a habit of hiding his/her face.

I hadn't thought in that particular outcome... You and I have been bounding around ideas over the months on how KOTOR III could be handled character-wise, J, but this may be a fresh and clever idea, indeed. I would love to get the opportunity to get both Revan and The Jedi Exile as main characters, much like Saga Frontier 2, Resident Evil 2, games which have two or more main characters, like Xenosaga... though Xenosaga focuses on one character in every episode... Anyway, if Revan were to "not appear" in KOTOR III, it would certainly be credible and interesting, something like Legacy of Kain: Soulreaver, in which Raziel is "the main character" but we know Kain is pulling his strings. I don't like the idea of Revan manipulating The Jedi Exile, as I believe the later has grown well beyond such ploys, but perhaps a storyline in which both are challenging each other, one in the light and one in the shadows, would work. To continue the Legacy of Kain comparison, my wishes go to Revan and The Jedi Exile being much like Kain and Raziel in Defiance, one of the best storylines I've seen in any game. Oh, and I do like The Jedi Exile over Revan, though that doesn't make me consider her the "default," "Ruling," main character of KOTOR III.

:nodding: I like that idea. (I have something similar planned... ;) )
I don't spend enough time here

I think in the tird Kotor we can play Revan as the leader of the new party, and the Exile (possibly female) in the party. She has discovered Revan on a far planet at the ending of Kotor II,and Revan has discover the true Sith warriors...i think it can be an excellent idea
Err... didn't we just dismiss the possibility of that? Or did you post without reading? I don't think we will play as either. For a start, the level-up system would be psychotic if we played as a fully-trained Jedi. You'd either already have a load of Force powers etc, in which case the game would be incredibly easy at the beginning or, if they also leveled up the enemies, incredibly non-newbie friendly. Or you'd have a fully-trained Jedi... learning how to use the Force. Which, let's face it, would be incredibly smegging stupid.

no if there is a kotor3 you WILL play as revan because if you played kotor 2 and you went to korriban and listen to the dead teleks about blowing the door up without affecting anything you will see bastilla talking about revan not returning in months and how he went to the unknown space w/e to find some techneek or something maybe kotor 1 was the past....kotor2 was what happened after revan...and if kotor3 comes out.....what happened to revan AFTER kotor 1 with would make it inbetween :O
Err...what? First, the holocron only plays if Revan was set as DS (which, as we all know, is not canon). Second, how in the nine Correlian hells would it make any sense to set the third game in between the first two? Third,
It was supposed to transition into K3, yes. The events in K2 were supposed to showcase that Revan was aware there was a larger problem outside the galaxy, and he/she had set plans in motion to unite the Republic and confront this other threat... all the destructive fury in K1 had a much larger purpose in the context of K2 beyond conquering the Republic. This is communicated more explicitly during some of the end sequences in K2, and in some of the discussions with Kreia and the Disciple.
Mr Avellone himself confirms that chronologically, K3 comes after K2, as it should. And again, I can't possibly buy Revan as the PC. Too much SOD required.
SOD? And, man, I know the Irish are supposed to drink a lot, but you just took it to a new extreme. Absolutely nothing in your post made sense. Plus, your spellings awful. "Techneek"?
Suspension of disbelief. ;) I writer like you ought to know. :p Took me about three minutes to get what "Techneek" means, by the way...
