anyone know how to change the starting classes (Guardian, Sentinal, Consular) to the ones from K1 (Soldier, Scoundrel, Scout)?
As far as I know it's not possible to change the starting classes. You edit classes.2da and the related files to make Guardian, Sentinel, and Consular identical to Soldier, Scout, and Scoundrel, but that would make Visas a Scout, Kreia a Scoundrel, and turning party members into Jedi wouldn't be possible. Well, actually, you could probably change the prestige classes into Jedi classes, change Visas and Kreia's starting classes to match that, and edit the makejedi script to use prestige classes, but it would take a while.
Beyond using the kse, I don't think there's any other way to do it. Unless you create a mod that does it, which I confess is BEYOND me. KOTOR and TSL Save Game Editor (English Language Only), Knights of the Old Republic 2 Downloads, Knights of the Old Republic 2 Save Game Editor Download it. It's really cool and easy to use. It's always on the top of the most downloaded files on KOTOR filefront. You have to actually start your game as a Jedi, once the game starts, (When you wake up at Peragus) save your game and exit. Open up the save editor, select your saved game, and you can change your class like that.
what I mean is in the Rise of the Sith mod, the starting classes are the non-Jedi classes. But I never thought of it changing all the party members classes.
Yeah, the only way to change some would be to change all. Well, I'm looking into using a script to change the player's current class instead of adding another class (which would probably fit here) but I've had no luck so far (as I've said many times, I fail at scripting).
If it works right, you could just have the player pick Guardian/Sentinel/Consular as usual, then have something trigger a script that will change their class to Soldier if they picked Guardian, Scout if they picked Sentinel, etc.
