Ok one thing that ive always wondered about in the KOTOR games is the prevalence of the Twilek race and their language/culture on the outer rim where the games are set.

I know that Twileks were often traded as slaves throughout the outer rim but being a pre-hyperspace society would they have really become as prevalent as they are?

They seem to have become the default "alien" race in KOTOR...

One might as well ask why Humans are so dominant in the Star Wars galaxy. As for their language, Twi'leks speak Huttese, which is due to the Hutts' domination of trade in a large portion of the Outer Rim.

That's probably because they're so close to humans in appearance. I'd rather look at a Twi'lek than an Ithorian.

But it adds a slightly "unrealistic" effect to a story if the races you meet across the galaxy are mainly (almost) looking like humans.

Of course, you can identify with the characters that way but it is not too authentic when the life-forms on most planets (that developed independently from each other!) look the same.

Well, it depends whether or not Star Wars comes up with an excuse for the look-alike races. Most other sci-fi's have. Star Trek had that race of extinct aliens that look suspiciously like Odo (*starts conspiracy*). In Stargate, the Ancients spread life throughout the galaxy and (judging by what we've learned of them with the Wraith and the Asurans) probably would have destroyed it again if it dared oppose them. Seriously, the Alterans (the Ancient's actual name) seem more like tyrants now than bringers of peace. Apart from the religious aspect, they may as well be the Ori.

I'd rather look at a Twi'lek than an Ithorian.

Well, you're a woman so it's not because you like the slave outfits... do you? *mind fills with images* :naughty::lol: So why do you prefer Twi'leks? Question: What's everyone's favourite color of Twi'lek? Mine's either dark or light blue.

The Twileks dont speak Huttese at least not as far as im aware.

They speak Twileki/Lekku.

Im just sayin that using Twileks is a cop out for Bioware/Obsidian - the easy way out. Its unrealistic as it gives the impression that the Twileks are a highly proliferated race and they arent.

Everyone speaks Huttese. It's like everyone speaks English. It's the dominant language of mercantile.

Lekku is also not a language, it's an appendage. I believe the "language" would be called body language.

I quite think all the female Twi'leks look ridiculous, tbh. I think it's because their lipstick is applied so sloppily. :p

I would much prefer some scantily clad male dancers... Maybe I'll make a "Chip 'n' Dale's: Star Wars" mod. What do you think?

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

 What good is it without the muscles? By the way, did I just turn my male fantasy into a cartoon about chipmunks...?
