Okay.

I just reinstalled this game. Before I uninstalled it I moved my previous Override folder to a differant location. I launch the game, start a new file, get to the point on telos when my party and I are released from house arrest, save it, close it, return the override folder to the main kotor2 directory, launch the game go to load the game and it loads less than a quarter of the loading bar and just stops. I've tried waiting like 5 minutes and nothing happens. I load the task manager and it says its running fine.

If this helps at all, I DID try loading the game without any mods and the same problem persists. My computer meets, if not excedes the recommended hardware settings. It is running vista. I HAVE patched it, and installed the vista fix file thingie.

please help me

The game sometimes crashes or stops at some point when you have new drivers for your graphic card installed. Did you get a new driver since the last time you played?

I have not. I haven't installed drivers for my graphics card ( its hardwired into the mother board because its a laptop) the last time I played was less than 3 weeks ago, and since then I installed pixeltoolbox 1.1 and thats it.

I have this same problem. I've not yet modded the game, I just bought it, since I loved the xbox version a few years back. It works fine as long as I start a new file, but when I save it won't ever load the save. Auto save works fine, but it doesn't auto save nearly enough obviously. Also vista, fully patched. Runs fine as long as I don't try to load my saves :(

I did fix it actually, I reinstalled it and the same problem persisted, but i decided to try reinstalling it again, and it works fine now. well....."fine" to fit vista's definition of the word.
