Being bored out of my skull and afraid to leave my room because my Grandma's visiting, I'm going to make a thread. Anyway, what are you favorite Warhammer 40k characters? Not just in the Miniatures, like from Books, like in Xenos, Malleus, Hereticus, you know, fairly known Warhammer 40k Characters. Mine are in no particular Order, if It was in order, Abbadon the Despoiler would be No. 1 Mine: Cherubael from the Eisenhorn series, a badass Daemon prince struck inside a human body, he is kind of playful, deadly monster. Plus, he killed a Titan and two or three daemon princes. Inquisitor Gregor Eisenhorn: Not really sure why I like him, he's just cool. He patrols the Helican Sub-Sector and turns into a radical inquisitor when he calls on Cherubael to destroy . . a I'm not telling. Abbdon the Despoiler: A vengefull, supposed Clone of the Arch-Traitor Horus, who is the most powerful of the Chaos lords. He is the chosen of Chaos, and has lead 13 Black Crusades against the Imperium, and will eventually topple it, and ascend to a daemon prince, and will rule the True Imperium of Mankind, and probably Daemon, upon the Ashes of the Throne of Holy Terra. What's more awesome than that? Arch-Traitor Horus: The Primarch of the Lunar Wolves/Sons of Horus/Black Legion, who nearly toppled the Imperium of man alone, and was the Emperor's favored son. Need I say more? Kharn the Betrayer: A frenzied, vicicous warrior who single handedly shattered the Word Bearers in a symphony of Frost, Flame, Axe, and the Emperor's Children. He slaughtered hundreds of his own Brother in his blood fury, and prowls the Eye of Terror in search of Skulls for Khorne. Only the most frenzied and insane warriors dare to fight in his Warband. Fabius Bile: A Dr. Moro/Dr. Frankenstein like guy. I have no love for the Emperor's Children, but this is an exception. He is constantly searching for better ways to make Chaos Marines, dsisecting them, studying them, searching for the Imperium's secrets, and fucking them up, making Chaos Marines more awesome than they already are. He has giant factories of Cloning Laboritories, and freely performs performs Emperiments on himself and others. Magnus the Red: Primarch of the Thousand Sons who ascended to Daemonhood, and a worshipper of Tzeentch. He is a uber-strong badass, and assigned Ahriman (is that it?) to cast the Rubric of Ahriman to help Control the Thousand son's mutations, but he fucked up, sealing them inside their armor. I can't remember of any other reasons why he's cool, if this thread goes anywhere, and maybe If I remember why I like him, I'll post on it. I hate typing, plus, Im lazy, and those are all my favorite 40k Characters at the moment, so, post away.

Doesn't some fluff mention he's turned down being a Demon Prince for some reason or other?

I'd say mine were captain lysander and that shrike guy with the two power-claws, there pretty neat models. Never really read any of the books about 40k so there are few characters that I really know except for the ones that are available in minature.

Colonel-Commisar Ibram Gaunt and the Ghosts of Tanith (Mkvenner specifically). First, Last, Only.

Eisenhorn and Ravenor are also pretty cool.

Honsou is class.

Personally it has to be Commander Sahaal the Night Lord from Lord of the Night. An excellent traitor Marine. But no a Chaos Marine. Good book too.

Arch-Traitor Horus: The Primarch of the Lunar Wolves/Sons of Horus/Black Legion, who nearly toppled the Imperium of man alone, and was the Emperor's favored son. Need I say more?

The Son's of Horus were renamed the Black Legion by Abaddon after the death of Horus. A technicality, but I thought I should point it out.

This is incorrect:

The Rubric of Ahriman

Mutation had been a curse borne by the Thousand Sons since their inception. By swearing loyalty to Tzeentch, the Legion was able to avoid this for a time. However, once the Legion had settled on the Planet of Sorcerers, Tzeentch began bestowing his 'blessings' on members of the Thousand Sons. Although many embraced the favour of their new god, the veterans of the Legion began to feel that all their efforts to save their Legion had been for nothing. A cabal of the legion's strongest sorcerers attempted to counter the warping corruption. They secretly laid the foundations of a mighty spell, afraid that their Primarch would disapprove of their risky actions. Led by Ahriman, their chief Librarian, the cabal hoped to dispel the violent mutations that were slowly destroying the Legion, also hoping that their battle-brothers would prove immune to later corruptions. The Rubric was both a total success and a total failure. The Thousand Sons were no longer susceptible to mutation, because there was nothing left to mutate. The flesh of the Space Marines was turned to dust, their souls trapped within armour that had become completely sealed. The majority of the Legion had been reduced to little more than automata. Magnus was enraged, as the Legion he had sacrificed so much for had been destroyed. Striding to the top of his tower, he swore that he would see the galaxy burn and summoned Ahriman to account for his actions. Magnus had the intention of destroying the errant sorceror, for despite the Chief Librarian's considerable powers he could not match the dark energies granted to a Demon Prince, and the fallen Primarch's fury knew no bounds. As he raised his fist to deliver the single killing blow, a distant and sibliant voice reverberated with the knowledge of thousands and the machinations of something altogther beyond his understanding; "Magnus ... You would destroy my pawns too readily." Realising the Architect of Fate Tzeentch itself had orchestrated the entire event Magnus spared Ahriman, realising there were yet still things beyond even his elevated understanding. The Thousand Sons Chief Librarian was banished, on an eternal quest for perfect understanding -- leading him to take up such dangerous and enticing quests as the hunt for the Eldar Black Library.
