battle of marascar or something like that. You get 2 races, space marines and tryiads. Dont know much bout the tryiads but the space marines are widely played and have lots of units. You definitely get lots of feedback from SM as oppose to other races

Lol marascar, battle for maccrage, it dose come with two races but if you have A low budget that can be A bad thing because warhammer can be costly, this is after you move off of the maccrage set.

Well space marines there the a expensive army as in points (which you will learn form the codex) but cheaper in money. I suggest this month you buy a maccrage force BUT if you still have cash buy the dark angle £50 box you get 1 vet squad, 1 command squad, Scout squad, Marine squad and a Rhino which you get more in this set than the normal set (cause there limited in stock) But it dont mean you have to do DA you can do what ever chapter you want, even make up your own one (also in the codex, you could even use the robes). Warhammer can be confusining at first but once you learn the basics it will get easyier.

Yeah, Warhammer costs LOADS & theres only one place the prices are gunna go (^^) I'd advise against SM if you have a low budget, theyre prbly the most costly 40K army. Maybe IG? You get a good few models in their sets.

I'd say Space Marines definately... Also you should try online sites since they generally sell at like 10%-20% off of GW prices. But it really depends on what you like more. Space Marines are good at everything, but Imperial Guard need good tactics, both types of Eldar are sort of the same in terms of tactics but from what I hear they require lots of skill. Orks, and Tyranids are basically just a "keep moving towards the enemy" type of race. Plus with the new Space Marines Devastator sets... mmm. I need some of those. Good thing my birthday is coming up.

As it says in the W40K rulebook, go with whatever army you think looks or sounds interesting. Don't worry asbout rules and don't do it just cause everyones doing it; pick the army you think is coolest.
