I have been wondering about how many races there actually are apart from the main ones, eldar, IG, Space Marines, CSM, Tau, Necrons, Dark eldar, Daemon Hunters, Tyranids and the lost and the damed cause i would probably like to collect a really unknown army that only a few people have heard of. :plzdie: :ditto:
just check on the GW website and you'll find out
eldar, IG, Space Marines, CSM, Tau, Necrons, Dark eldar, Daemon Hunters, Tyranids and the lost and the damed (not sure if this one is an army O_ô)
there are more, Harlequins (yuo can make an entire army of them), but you need lots of green stuff ans imagination, and also llok on the websites to see conversions for harlequins i've seen some of them that are great
The ordo malleus aka grey knights
The guard SM of the emperor, i don't remember they're name now, they are gold armour and live only in Terra guarding the golden throne
now you can make an entire army of mutants (check the CSM codex)
There are two tipes of tau, those who followed shadowsun that they can't use etereals and some tipes of units, or the normal tau
but if you want to make an unique army, use your imagination:
SM that theyre only close combat or viceversa an entire army of nids composed by carnifex etc, etc, etc
hope i've explained well, i'm improving my english every day :P
:deal: Orks who serve Khorne!! (red skinned)
Lt Jonathor;3554711 cause i would probably like to collect a really unknown army that only a few people have heard of.
If your good at the art of green stuff and plastic card and are willing to dish out major bucks than the Adaptus Custodes are for you. They're quite unknown and I don't think their are rules for them so you could probly go by the Demon Hunter's Codex for the rules. here's a link to the Custodes page at the GW site: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/spacemarines/painting/taylor_heresy/default.htm
eather that or the Legion of the Damned, as seen here: http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/spacemarines/extras/chapterinfo/lotd.htm but be warned the LotD has not been up dated for a very long time so the rules and models are out dated.
Kroot, Vespids (would be hard to make an army as theres only one set of them) and um... cant think of anyomre at the moment ill post if i think of anymore
Well you can collect the new Dark Angles Army, they're brand new so I doubt very people have them yet they just came a month or 2 ago, the're a version of SM heres the link to their gallery with prices to. I would have collected these guys had I not already started collecting the imperial guard http://us.games-workshop.com/games/40k/darkangels/catalog/default.htm or if you want to play the guard here is the newest varient of the guard the Vostroyans http://medusav.us.games-workshop.com/hobby/painting/vostroyan_paint_schemes/1.htm
Screw the Vostroyans it's about the Death Korps of Krieg! here's a link to their Forge World page http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/acatalog/DEATH_KORPS_OF_KRIEG.html
Um, well first of all do any of you actually play 40k? There really is no army that is not played by many people, seeing as how in England alone there are 143 stores, 53 in the US and alot more throughout the world. Your best idea for a unique army is to find a theme you want and to convert GW models into your personal army. I have a freind who is now doing a 13th warrior army using the Beast and Hordes of Chaos rule (for Warhammer: Fantasy) and making the Marauder models look like the people that dressed like bears.
Secondly the Marines that wear the Golden Armour are known as the Death Guard. Yes I know that there is a Chaos army called the Death Guard, guess what, they are the one in the same. Originally the Death Guard were one of the original founding chapters of Space Marines. During the Horus Heresy a large portion of them left the Imperium and joined Chaos. Those that remained loyal now guard the Golden Throne.
The SM's that guard the golden throne are the adeptus custodes, and they were around before the primarchs, read the Horus Heresy series.
But the only way to do something really individually is to do lots of converting .
