Yay after 2 years or so of collecting i finally play a 1000 point game of eldar =), this is a battle report of the events.
Eldar vs. imperial gaurd aumoured company, 1000 pts, objective Take and hold + victory points.
His army was 4 tanks and that was it, with alot of upgrades, don't know the exact points.
My army list can be found in the army list thread: http://forums.filefront.com/showthread.php?t=283286&page=2
So wr deploy our forces, his 4 tanks and my horde of eldar and we roll for first turn and i get first turn.
My Turn 1: This really was the point in the game were nothing went right for me, i jumped my warp spiders forward into cover passing all dangerous terrain tests, got my falcon to move up into a small spot in between alot of cover and got my army on the advance with the guardians moving up one side, scorpions moving up the other side and my wraithlord and farseer stomping through the cover in the middle.
Shooting- My rangers had a pop at the side of one of the tanks failing to do anything, my gaurdians missle launcher landed a hit but no damage and my falcon dismally failed with the pulse laser.
His turn 1: He 1 of his tanks back slighly to get it out of ranger of the striking scorpions, and the other 3 tanks moved into position for indirect fire behind cover.(all leman russ' by the way so lots of battle cannons)
The warp spiders made their 2D6" assault move and lost one member in the process.
Shooting - One russ landed a scatter on my falcon, the re-roll however landed a hit, glanced it and caused an imobilised result, the falcon wasn't a scoring unti now, thanks to vectored engines it didnt crash but landed in a spot where it couldnt see anything due to large amounts of diffcult terrain. " of the russes completely missed while the other one hammered about 5 of my guardians, fortunatly they passed their morale check.
My turn 2: I managed to get my warp spiders into quite a good position in cover, while my scorpions rolled very low numbers for difficult terrain test, my guardians carried on moving up and i got my ranger sqaud moving to the objective.
Shooting - Mostly fleet of foots, i got my gaurdians into a another spot of cover with this move and got my farseer moving up.
His turn 2: he went straight to shooting this time and wiped out my gaurdians squad except for the warlock and a gunner for the platform, amazingly they stayed put, he tried to hit my wraithlord with the battle cannon but missed completly, another of his tanks shot down 2 of my scorpions.
My turn 3: I was getting quite close now and i knew that if i could get a witch blade in there it could turn the game around, i moved my gaurdians through the cover with high diffcult terrain tests right on the edge of the cover, my wraithlord made it our of cover and was now in the open with my farseer, my warp spiders jumped behind one of the tanks.
Shooting - I used fleet of foot on my rangers and got them into the objective range and a decent spot of cover. I let out a full rip of shots with my warp spiders and managed to score 3 glancing hits 1 of which was a 6! so one tank was down, i used fleet of foot on my gaurdians who managed top get within about 4" of another tanks, my farseer also used fleet of foot.
Assault - I charged the gaurdian squad at the front of one the of the tanks and my warlock managed to score 3 hits, 2 penetrating,1 glacing, the 2 penetrating caused 2 destroyed results which i was happy with.
His turn 3: He moved away from my warlock slightly and took to shooting my warp spiders causing them to go under half strength and fall back, this meant they couldnt rally so ended up off the board in the end.
Turn 4: I realised i needed more units at the pbjective so got my striking scorpion sqaud to head that way while my farseer moved with my wraithlord towards the tanks.
Shooting - fleet of foot on farseer wasnt sucessful, rolling a 1 meaning she was 7" from the tank. forgot to fleet the guardians =\
His turn 4: I realised now my farseer was doom and sure enough she failed her save and suffered instant death form a lascannon shot, the other tank tried to have a go at the wraithlord and caused 1 wound.
My turn 5: I moved my scorpions back to the objective, ii wasnt quite in range yet and set my warlock and wraithlord to have a bash at the two remeaining tanks.
Assault - My warlock charged in but didnt managed to score any damage this time, my wraithlord however destroyed another tank and took another wound from the explosion.
His turn 5: He moved his tank as far as it go to get out of the way of any assaulting units, no shooting.
Turn 6: I tried to get my units back to the objective but knew they were too far out, except for the scorpions who where just in range of it.
His turn 6: Yet another full speed move which got his final tank worth 200 points to the objective, the game ended there with me winning after destroying a total of 800 points and scoring about 250 points form take and hold, the end result was solid victory.
Hope you enjoyed that, I will return with more eldar tales before long =)
Cool, congratulations on your victory! I'm actually a little surprised you pulled it off since you had so much infantry but good job.

Yeah i was prepared to lose, i've seen this guy play countless battles and he's never lost. I was really shocked when i rolled aumour penetration with the warlock and got 2 6's and a 5
You said his point total was 800 with the 4 tanks right? I wonder why he didn't throw in some infantry to help combat yours. After all, he had 200 points.
no no his total was 1000, i took out 800 points worth though
oh ok i see
