SO let me get this strait, you can add daemon hunters, witch hunters, and alien hunters in your army of either imperial guard or space marines. But CAN YOU ADD IMPERIAL GUARD TO your space marine army, probably no. But still, the vehicle thing, does that mean YES?

in what sense do you mean add imperial guard to a SM army? you can use a converted vechicle to represent a 40k vechicle as long as its the right size.( but the catch is you can't just put a rl apc on the board and use it as a chimera that would be boring you gotta convert it to make it 40kish) eg if you get WWII tank and put a big cannon on the front 3 lascannons in sponsons in the front/left/right of the tank you can use that as a leman russ ,technically GW models are optional they just look warhammerish already without the converting.

so what your saying is you can make your own tank but it just has to look 40kish with lascannons, heavy bolters, multimelta, and assault cannons like that and the same size, color and futuristic look.

basically yes. i knew someone who used lots of lego and GW models and bit to make about 7 tanks and vehicle for chaos. As long as the model you want to use has the same weapons on it as the tank you want to represent, you can use it. roughly the same size , color doesn't really matter ( too many variations in the 40k universe) but you definatly need the futuristic look

About making your own tanks and stuff, you can make them as there was a chapter aproved article on how to make them, it includes how to sort out size, speed , weapon etc. I cant remember where i got it from (some where on the net) but its there if you want to make them.

For Witch Hunters it may be worth making your own tanks or fast attack things like a bike or converted (mega converted) flame-throwing Sentinal. Hope that helps!
