games workshop needs to make a space marine movie in order to establish the imperium to not only the fan base, yet to anyone that may end up appreciating the imperium or even to those against the imperium, especially since no movie for so many years & & with such a strong base of information & & history available through books & & board games & & just so many warhammer things that its actually strange to many i'm sure that for so long & & so much work (no movie)
First off, way way too many &'s, plus it was almost unreadable.
Second off, YOU DID 2 OF THESE ALREADY, WE GET THE MESSAGE, YOU WANT A MOVIE FOR IMPERIUM FANBOYS!

GW, if it's EXEs actually think, which until seems to be the case, will never release a space marine movie. Inquisition maybe, but never space marine. a) It could never be enough for the fans b) the rating would make it almost inaccessible c) those who have no idea as to what wh40k is would be disappointed (no starwars happy ends) d) the fluff is semi mystery shrouded for a number of puroposes e) the price would be enormous, with only a small possibility of a return.
I didn't make it!
I agree with wraithcat. Why do we need 3 threads for the same topic?

Why are you wrighting two &'s it just make things less legeble
The two &'s thing is very annoying, learn to type properly and legibly please. Even if you don't speak english as a first language or something, that still doesn't mean you should be typing like that.
Wraithcat makes a lot of very good points.
the only way it'd be acceptable to the masses is if it was first a happy ending, and they made whatever race it centered around to be the good guys, and as Nobody's a good guy in WH40k, that would be a betrayal of the fanbase.
You don't want anybody to put down the imperium? at all? or the Emperor?
The Imperium is a Vile Brutal Tyrannic Regime, Reminiscent of Nazi Society at its worst, they cannot accept anybody being any different to themselves in any way, much like Factions like the Klu Klux klan, and rather than just banishing them or not hanging out with them, they BURN THEM.
Just Because they're Human, doesn't make them good. they're not some Noble last vestige of humanity that honorably defends itself against evil, and attempts to promote universal peace like most Sci-Fi humans, they are SPACE NAZI'S.
Don't even get me started on the Emperor. He was never a good guy like most people claim, his first act was to Create supersoldiers and enslave the world, then he created better supersoldiers and Enslaved the solar system. then he created more supersoldiers, and attempted to Enslave the UNIVERSE. the first Sentient aliens he saw, he didn't try to talk to or establish a peace treaty or something smart like that, he BLEW THEM UP. Any humans in the galaxy that wanted to be independent and enjoyed their society, he BLEW THEM UP. Anyone who complained inside the imperium, he BLEW THEM UP.
Anyone seeing a theme here? Something along the lines of either Enslaving people or Blowing them up?
Gotta say, that sounds kinda Mean to me. not all hugs and happiness from Mr.Goldenarmour then. Alright, he's Powerful. a very strong Psyker, by any standards. SO ARE A LOT OF TZEENTCHIAN SORCERORS WHO SACRIFICE THOUSANDS TO CAST ONE SPELL TO GET THEMSELVES A MUFFIN OR SOMETHING! it doesn't make him a good guy, just better at being a bad guy.
Yes, he wants to take down the Chaos Gods. fair enough, i suppose thats a noble goal. to be honest, i think he just wants to be the only thing that's Unbelievably powerful and rules though, rather than he wants to kill em cos they're evil. he just doesn't want the competition.

You see, there was this thing called Damnatus, in which a german group attempted to make a movie GW put it down because it was not licensed; ergo a copyright infringement on their Intellectual Property.
Kyle, in regards to your "see a pattern" comment, the 40k universe is gritty and hellish for a reason. Most sci fi has a happy ending, or at least a better than the start ending, an example is the likes of Asimov's Foundation, 40k more resembles Adam's Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (Don't comment on this if you only saw the movie. Read it first), HGTTG had an ironic and twisted ending, much like the vast majority of 40k's universe. This pattern is what makes the 40k universe so appealing to those sick and tired of the same old same old. and to re inforce the point it seemed you were trying to get at: There are no good guys in the 40 k universe. I do not care what evidence you can bring, because there is none. Tau are enslavers, and the Imperium is murderous, just the Eldar are pround and self loathing. This is why they didn't make a "good" or "evil" story line in WA Campaign, and choose to call it "Order" and "Disorder."
To make a movie would cost a huge ammount of money to produce, and frankly, not worth it when GW is making enough money with it's tabletop game, book production, and profit from the DoW game franchise.
Aye, and the Gritty hellishness is what makes it so good. it's just i'm sick of people going on about the Imperium being good guys or the Tau being good guys or the Eldar being good guys or whatever.
And yeah i've read HGTTG, i see what you mean by that. very nice comparison actually.
the Imperium rant was mainly cos he said (i think, its kinda hard to tell) that basically anyone who puts down the Imperium or the Emperor is bad and will turn into a chaos spawn. That made me think he was yet another person who thought the imperium was the good guys, and could do no wrong. I very much like Pointing out all the Tyrannicalness of the imperium to those people.
