What do you think is the best soundtrack for Dow? (i.e : what music do you listen to, while playin ?) To me, it is some mid-tempo death metal. The band that fit most to 40k universe is Bolt Thrower. Loud guitars, blasting drums, growls from beyond... :stallard:

Too right - am a massive BT fan - World Eater trilogy from the 3 albums really sets the pace -Tho it depends who im playing. "Blood for the Blood God" by Sabbat (realeased on a plastic film single on a white dwarf magazine) was the 1st track i ever heard to go into the genre. Other fave bands to kill to includeSlayer, Napalm Deth. Kreator, Death Angel, Massacre, Obituary, Morbid Angel, Exodus (WAR IS MY SHEPHERD) all give that hard edged theme. Any OI or punk for Da Ork Boyz, Pantera / Metallica and mainstream style rock (from ac/dc to Xentrix and White Zombie)for IG (cos theyre pussies in comparison) and for the Eldar - wtf? ive no idea cos i dont play em - chamber music? baroque? Brahms? Enya? Clannad? Glam Hair Metal (Poison (chix with dix), Motley Crue, Bon Jovi, Europe, Love Hate et al)

 you listen to music while playing DoW........Just kidding. Well as for me I play Eldar and IG.I have to laugh bout what Spellweaver said. But as for music I listen to White Zombie,Slipknot,Kreator,Slayer,Rob Zombie,Morbid Angel, Exodus,Pantera,Korn,Disturbed,Godsmack just to mention a few and if I want a mix. If I want to make it a slaughterfest I listen to just Slipknot cause it makes me kill things :KTA: But no matter what it is it has to be loud, obnoxious and high tempo  and that is what you will find playing when DoW is going.

i totally agree with spellweaver. Very good analysis indeed. About Eldar, i may suggest some industrial. Such as (early)Fear Factory, S.U.P., Nine Inch Nails, Front Line Assembly, Godflesh. Some technoïd music, with big beats, and dark ambiance

Yeah I forgot to mention NiN in there along with Tech also. Your right it does have to have those big beats and a dark ambience to it. I will try to post a couple of my playlist I have set up for playing IG and Eldar later tonite ot tomorrow. I stick with the heavier metal, death metal ect when I play the IG and tend to lean more towards NiN,tech and Industrial when playing Eldar

oh my god. fucking pussies(jokes) GO CLASSICAL! when im playing games i listen to classical, games like battlefiedl, DoW, DoD etc i listen to ride of the valkyries. ride of the valkryies has to be favourite song when im playing as IG, its so awesome when thats playing and you crushing your opponents army with a baneblade and some ogryns! but when im not playing games i listen to metal and rock, my favourite band is either creed, nirvana, machine head or system of a down.

you are right, classical music fits well to some piece of bravoure. Because it can be very powerfull, as Ride of the Valkyrie. Listen also to A Night on the Bare Mountain...totally fits to Chaos !!! While playing Chaos, one may also put some Black Metal out loud !!! The satanistic background is there ! (hu... wonder if this means anything... lol)

As long as its not "new wave" rock - that contrived stuff all sounds the same - mad at daddy, school sucks etc.. etc... Sad as all hell. Some of the Neo Pagan stuffs quite good - Mithras, Daughters of Luna etc... Classicals good - Though ROTV is a bit Apocalypse Now for me - now some 1812 Overture or Gregorian Chant maybe - thats a different matter. I still reckon metal pretty much covers it just for the pure rage and energy it can give ya - ive had my ork boys in a serious mosh pit from time to time to the dulcet tones of Max Cavalera - ahhh, it takes me back to the days of my youth, when, if you didnt get hurt, THEY werent trying hard enough. PUSSIES. It wasnt a good mosh unless 1 tooth was loose once the music stopped.
