Right, well here it goes! For all those of you who have a Question about the 'real' 40K universe, ask away here and hopefully someone will answer you! From me: Q1) Fallen Angels (Angels of Redemtion etc) - Howcome they are not in Chaos Armour? Q2) Do Space Marine Chapters / Imperial Guard ever fight each other - and if so, why? Q3) Why do the Daemon Hunters attack other Space Marine Chapters? - IE: Fire Dragons (just because they were burning)? Q4) What is with the Legion of the Damned? (besides what is on the Games Workshop website)! Q5) If the Tau are all peace, why not team up with the Space Marines? Q6) If the Eldar are all peace, why not team up with the Space Marines? Q7) Whats the relation to Eldar & Dark Eldar? - What happened? Q8) What is the 'story' with the Space Wolves and Thousand Sons? Q9) Who are the 'main' Space Marines? Q10) - and finally, How do Orks reproduce if there are only Males? :p

A1) cause only a few of them really turned to Chaos, remember that many "traitor" chapter turned against the emperor cause they were jealous or felt betrayed, only a few primarchs embraced Chaos from the beginning, the other were forced to flee into the Eye of Terror
A2) It's often Space Marines attacking traitor guards, it doesn't happen often but sometimes chaos cults take over a whole planet and use the PDF (Planetary Defence Forces, the local Guards, IG being sent all over the place) to defend themselves. It usually takes a few days for a chapter to kill the leaders, purge a few billion people and reinforce the Imperial Doctrine on such planets. Traitor Chapters are fewer (although it happend: Bhadab incident) but being quite small, a chapter cannot fight large scale battles so they usually get their defenced crushed by the imperial navy, flee in vessels and the survivors hide in unsecure/unstable space areas.
A3) Mutation is considered being heretic, all mutations must be purged and some chapters are looked very close at by the Inquisition to prevent general Mutation and Chaos marks. Generally, all chapters have to send probes of their genetic material and extra-organs to the Techpriests and the Inquisition. Those who refuse commit Heresy, are de-facto considered Exommunicata Traitoris and will be purged as fast as possible.
A4) No one really knows, it's supposed to be a chapter from the 13th foundation (the cursed foundation), they appear on the battlefield during the night, tear the ennemies of the Emperor appart and vanished without a trace on the next day.
A5) The Tau are not all peace, they are a quite new Imperium, but like all Imperiums it is expanding, and meeting new, hostile creatures who do not care about the Greater good (i.e. Orks & Tyranids). They have often common ennemies with the Imperium and thus fight alongside Marines (but these cooperations never last long)
A6) Same for the Eldars, you can bet there are Eldars in the Area when Chaos activity is discovered. Because they can see future they either help or not. But they also often get shot by Imperials cause - seeing the future - they try to keep a threat secret by killing the imperials which are burrying it out (example: Tallarn and the Chaos Gate)
A7) Eldars were a race that lived by its own perverse pleasures, due to these perverted thoughts they created a new chaos god: Slaanesh. Once Slaanesh woke up, it blew the immaterium up and created the Eye of Terror, swallowing by the same time most of the Eldar worlds and souls (that's why Eldars got Soul Stones, to prevent their souls being eaten by Slaanesh). Dark Eldars were a faction of eldar who could not stop their need for new sensations, thus theyr turned into cruel and perverted pirates. Imperials do not make the difference between Eldars and Dark Eldars, and Eldar sometimes get attacked as a revenge for a Dark Eldar raid. ( A good Xenos is a Dead Xenos!)
A8) Magnus the Red, Primarch of the Thousand Sons was studying warp magic, The Emperor forbid him to go further but Magnus could not stop and was convinced he could use the powers of Chaos to turn em against Chaos. When the Emperor heard that Magnus did not stop his researches, during the Heresy, he sent the Space Wolves to punish the Thousand Sons. The (beautiful) homeworld of Magnus got blown up by the Wolves and the Thousand Sons had no other choice than fleeing to the Eye of Terror where Tzeench offered his help. From this day they still have a deep hatred against the Space Wolves.
A9) I guess you mean the original Chapters from whom 9 stood Loyal to the Emperor and 9 Betrayed him: Blood Angels : Sanguinius Dark Angels: Lion El Johnson Iron Hands: Ferrus Manus Ultramarines: Roboute Guiliman Imperial Fists: Rogal Dorn Salamanders: Vulkan White Scars: Jaghataï Khan Ravenguard: Corax Space Wolves: Leman Russ
All other chapters have been founded on the genetic heritage of these primogenitor chapters, following the Codex Astartes written by Roboute Guilliman after the Heresy (dividing the Legions into chapters to prevent any other large scale treason). Most Chapters are descendents of the Ultramarines
Traitors: Lunar Wolves aka Sons of Horus aka Black Legion: Horus Word Bearers: Lorgar World Eaters: Angron (Khorne, few of them remaining) Thousand Sons: Magnus (Tzeench) Death Guard: Mortarion (Nurgle) Alpha Legion: Alpharius Nightlords: Night Haunter aka Konrad Cruze (iirc) Iron Warriors: Perturabo Emperor's Children: Fulgrim (slaanesh)
From the two remaining Chapters, one is Classified Inquisitoris (and i believe only a few of the High lords of Terra know anything about them), the other is marked as "informations missing" (all informations have been erased by the Inquisition)
A10) Orks are fungus, they use spores to reproduce, everytime an Ork dies, his body throws thousands of spores in the atmosphere, which find a good location to grow. That's the main reason why it is so freaking hard to purge a Planet after an Ork invasion. These spores do not grow close to ork settlements and only grow in ork-free areas. This leads to agree on the fact that a fully occupied planet has a maxed out Ork population, but orks being orks: they fight and kill each other, there are always new orks which will grow.
Hope that helped, and if i did something wrong, do not hesitate correcting it :)
Nothing Wrong (for me), but now I have more Questions :p Q1) These 'Fallen Angels' are just 'out there' trying to make a living in the ways of Chaos, but are actual Space Marines being hunted by the Dark Angels? Q2) Bhadab incident - What Is This? Q3) Which is the Chapter that mutates Claws and extra Bones? - Howcome they are ok, though the Fire Dragons were not? Q4) 13th Foundation - What Is This / What Happened to them? Q5) Tallarn and the Chaos Gate - The Chaos Gate I know a little about, but the other!? Q6) Who is (or are) the 'main chapters' - IE: Ultramarines and Blood Angels are the most heard of, but are they the 'main chapters' or is there no such thing? Q7)
MaximillianWeisemannFrom the two remaining Chapters, one is Classified Inquisitoris (and i believe only a few of the High lords of Terra know anything about them), the other is marked as "informations missing" (all informations have been erased by the Inquisition)
Why kept secretive and who are they? Q8) Who is the Inqusition?
A3) theyre called "The Black Dragons" and theyre pushin the Inquisition to the limits of tolerance. So they arent really "ok" A8) the Inquisition is Daemonhunters, Witchhunters and Alienhunters.
i cant answer the other ones(forgot or didnt know)
Question to Answer 8 - (I knew that) - But, who are they, how did they come about, why are they needed... If you have the Space Marines and Imperial Guard for the protection of mankind, why put in a bunch of other teams?
concerning the ork reproduction thing, i never expected an answer like that. first of all, orks dont even look close to looking like fungus at all. second, where do u people get your information?!

because that some imperial guard would probly be corrupted by a daemon of chaos, so they need the daemonhunters to handle those. Same princip with the others. The grey knights are a kinda legion of psychic's.

Yes, i'm 22: i started early ^^
