Hi there.. Just postin around but why are lasguns so weak? I mean aren't lasers supposed to cut through flesh? The lasgun is like what most would call the flashlight. From THDC 7 Pinky - Hey guys! :cya: Joe - AAAAAHHH! What do we do?! :bawl: Alex - Open fire!!! (Lasguns fire) BZZZT! BZZT! Pinky - Can you please stop doing that? Those warm beams are mildly irritating... :bawl:

Lasguns aren't really all that weak by fluff standards, there just heat based weapons so they don't really do much to any material that has a low co-efficient of temperature. So basically any heavy armour found in the WH 40k universe.

On a side note, thats an awesome series your quoting.

Borrow away! I wonder if they are going to start a SS comic, even though i doubt it would be as good as the horror.

You are aware that lasguns are supposed to able to throw a man back 2 meters, be fired trough walls and be effective and as all lasers sever of arms and legs trough vapour explosions?

Lasguns are only weak when compared to the majority of warhammer weapons. And still, they are one of the most durable weapons you can get - reacharge trough sunlight and fire, you can leave one pressed against a tree, return a century later and it will still work.

In Dark Heresy (WH40K RPG) the Lasgun is a quite effective weapon, and the most reliable and flexible of all.. Maybe in the TT game and in the DoW series it has been underpowered for the same reasons why, in the same circumstances, the Space Marines are far weaker than their fictional descriptions. So to field one hundred "real" Lasguns could be equal to employ a couple of squads of "real" Space Marines: simply too much to bear for nearly everyone. Does this make sense? I'm just speculating..

No.. I think real lasguns would still not be strong against a real Space Marine. If the Lasgun was real, it would wreak havoc in out world today. Imagine what a real Space Marine squad could do to the world today... o_O

the lasguns arent underpowered there set at optimal fire power so they have a larger amount of fire from a power cell if they were set to the highest setting the powercell would run dry to quick and leave the guardsmen unarmed and also its easier to mass produce lasguns and powercells then auto rifles and munitions .

still to weak if you think it is meant to burn the flesh of something yet it rarely does that.
