Just make sure you don't get that confused with WinAntiVrirus boys and girls, WinAntiVirus is actually spyware.

I doubt it ever will.. I'm fairly sure if they ever developed it, they'd be sued immediately by 3rd party makers because Microsoft would basically be monopolizing the market again. Just like the issue they had with IE, but on a much larger scale. If they did, they would need to keep it so basic of a setup that it would be just like Windows' built-in firewall... pointless.

I thought OneCare had that sort of stuff - antivirus, anti spyware, all retard-friendly and auto-updating.

No one can stop Microsoft from doing their own antivirus program, they just shouldn't bundle it in with Windows. I doubt they would ever attempt to bundle it in anyway, because they can make more money from selling it seperately.

This is why Linux is increasingly an option for even regular users. You can start with a barebone operating system and bolt on what you need and leave the stuff you don't need out.

It does. The thing is, buying OneCare off of the shelf is not retard-friendly. Especially since "OneCare" does not say anything about an Anti-Virus in its name...

that's what I mean, they can't bundle it.

once linux supports the extensions required to run my pc games, I'm dropping windows in a nanosecond.
