It doesn't matter - Dragokatzof has received a post increment from simply linking to another site and saying "Sweet!". We don't know why it is sweet; we need him to comment on the matter.

Yes. A one-word thread is nothing but a post-count boost, no matter how "Sweet" the article in question is.

As to the HDD itself - that really does look like a beast. A friend of mine has a 70gb Raptor, and his load-times have dropped by around a third. Makes me wish I'd have waited a few months for it to come out. :(

I bet it requiers active cooling though. A new hard drive is second in priority on my list of future upgrades. First is a video card. I owned a 36GB raptor before my current one and it absolutely flew. Usually I measure my hard drives performance by how many times the blue bar moves across the screen when I'm loading windows (saves time over a benchmark, haha). With my 80GB NCQ hard drive, it goes across 14 times and with my 36GB raptor it took about 4.

Heh, 4 times. I only get that kind of performance after a fresh install of Windows, usually it takes 6 or 7...

????????????

I have a 160GB HDD and some friends have like 300-600GB. Why is this so special?

FireThrone-LastWarrior????????????

Because of the speed. Normal HDDs spin at anywhere between 4 and 7 thousand RPM. WD Raptor drives spin at 10,000RPM - this drastically reduces loading times for applications.
